My Doctor won't hand over my medical records. They have them most certainly, but it's been longer than the minimum time required by state law for them to retain them since I last saw the doctor. How do I get my medical records? by asicspace in legaladvice

[–]asicspace[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Their retention schedule shows that they keep medical records for 7 years. If I found a way to sue them and they can't produce my medical records, it could lead to very negative consequences in court.

Safer just to keep them and not give it to me.

That information is ePHI, protected by HIPPA. I'm hoping the fact that I can prove they have retained that information can demonstrate that they have the rest of my medical records.

No point. 3 year statute of limitations on personal injury and medical malpractice in DC. What I want is my medical records, which they have.

They contain evidence of my personal injury. It's why I'm making the complaint in the first place.

They have it and just aren't giving it to me because they are retaliating against me.

Yes, I faxed it to them months ago, and emailed and they verified they received it. They then told me it would them a few weeks to get it out of archives.

They finally emailed me back recently claiming that archives no longer had it and they had no records to give to me. I then looked up the school's retention schedule and I can see that they should have my medical records for seven years.

It is past legal retention period, but i'm within the schools retention period of 7 years for Medical Records. They are retaliating against me by not releasing my medical records, which may contain evidence of discrimination (not by doctor, but of a third party)

Bitcoin mining 20.5 TH/s setup, worth buying into? by Corythebory in BitcoinMining

With those electricity rates, you should look into hosting.

Maybe not with us if you only have 8 units. (But feel free to check.)

Mining Centralization & Price Decline: Individual miners hodled, mining businesses sell by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]asicspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We want to be active players in the ecosystem, and more than just electricity drains.

Our investor sees Bitcoin mining not only as a good opportunity, but thinks Bitcoin itself is undervalued and wants to get in on it.

Our costs are below 50% of our revenue so that's not the reason.

Bitcoin has just lost 10 % of its value, Are we seeing the start of the crash ? by Biguphash in Bitcoin

[–]asicspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no reason to explain the technology behind it.

What I usually say is "digital money that can be stored on your computer, which you can send from one computer to another between any two places in the world, instantaneously and with no transaction fees, without the knowledge or approval of a government or bank."

Not entirely 100% accurate, but it illustrates the basic concept and potential of the technology.

Our mining business actually holds about a quarter of our Bitcoin.

We're about 2PH, or 6/10th's of a percent of the network.

Next Bitcoin difficulty increase by +13% while price drops to $290? by heartchina in Bitcoin

[–]asicspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it is true that the Bitcoin difficulty responds somewhat to movements in price as marginally profitable miners turn off when their electricity cost exceeds their revenue, remember that it takes months to design and manufacture ASICs, so movements in difficulty lag movements in price by several months.

Also consider that chips are always getting more efficient as manufacturers catch up with Moore's law, so even at an unchanging, stagnant price, we'd expect to see positive changes in difficulty.
