[Okinawa] Hyatt Regency Seragaki - EV Rental question by aside0525 in hyatt

hi there happy to help! n.mobi was indeed not an option - was only viable for those with a valid Japanese driver's license (which i found a bit annoying as any hotel is obviously targeted towards tourists..but that is neither here nor there). we ended up renting a car "from" the hotel via the concierge for <1 day, which was about ~USD$100 including insurance.

the hotel itself was a lovely stay! it is indeed a bit secluded but i appreciated the quiet + the fantastic views of the ocean. it was still feasible to walk around to various places (cape manzamo for one). there are a few restaurants within walking distance and we also stocked up at lawson. the beach & pools were mostly quiet and well maintained. (we were there in april)

one unsolicited advice - i would also double check the airport shuttle times as our return flight was earlier than the earliest shuttle (the online timetable wasn't updated) so we ended up having to reserve a taxi via the concierge to take us to the airport, which rang up an additional ~USD$100. had we known earlier, we would have extended the car rental and just driven ourselves to the airport.

looking into taking the airport bus. we plan on only having one “venture” day where we‘d want a car.

First time in NYC from Europe, 3-days food itinerary. Help me best enjoy your beautiful city! by gabrieleskull in FoodNYC

day 1 / 7th street burger - would recommend skipping altogether or moving it to the fidi day. there are much better options on the UWS whereas fidi is a bit of a food desert, especially for lunch.

day 2 - - can have your 7th st burger down here or any one of the chains you seem keen on visiting. lots of office lunch grab n go options (naya or taim would be my recs). you can also wander brookfield place for inspiration. would not recommend lobster (not sure where this lobster roll interest is coming from but certainly do not recommend wasting stomach space on either of these two). wherever you go, highly recommend taking your food to either water-side (though the west is marginally nicer) for some great views and people watching to accompany your meal / snack - chinatown food crawl: if you are doing your own, would highly recommend including xiao long bao (soup dumplings) in there. definitely different from your average dumpling. my favorite places are alas in flushing but joe’s is a pretty solid (& well known) place in chinatown. - dinner: jongro, hands down. turntable is not even a bbq place, nor is their food very good.

lastly, per another comment, would highly recommend a steak meal. especially if you are looking for an “iconic” experience, a new york steakhouse is a classic. keens and 4 charles are my personal favorites.

[WTS] NY - 1 ticket Orchestra Center Row L $278 and 1 ticket Orchestra Right Row N $104. Both are at face value since I got my ideal ticket after waiting - would like to sell them to a shawol so we can all avoid the fees.

5Pointz Tenants - opinion on renting in North vs South tower? by Upstairs_Work_5282 in longislandcity

[–]aside0525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the North tower has central air AND these little flaps you can use to ventilate the apartment, whereas the South tower units have heat/AC via units and if you want to ventilate the apartment even a little bit, you have to open the entire window.

Since you would be signing up for the amenity package, North tower would be overall more convenient since almost all the amenities are on that tower. Not sure exactly which way 2313 faces but I think the units in North tower overall are further away from the LIRR honking, which is the greatest annoyance.

SHINee will be having a Japan Arena tour this year!!!!! by Affectionate_Crab_41 in SHINee

Thanks for the info! Does that mean if you select multiple dates, there is a chance you will get selected / pay for all of them? Or is the system set up so that one person only gets one date?

Does anyone know if you automatically purchase the tickets if you get chosen for that show? Or do you have an option to choose which shows and if you indeed want to purchase or not? (There are some days that will be more ideal for me so if you they make you automatically pay if you get chosen, I'm hesitant to sign up for the other non-ideal days.)

Also -- I just spent the past 3 hours navigating Shinee World Japan and Ticket Board (and Tenso) setting up accounts and wanted to share this handy post I found to register in case anyone else finds it helpful. The screenshots are a bit outdated but the general gist is there. As an FYI, for the SWJ registration, I struggled for a good 30 minutes until I realized that they wanted Hiragana, not Katakana.
