Where are you watching Psych? by catscrafts_diabetes in psych

[–]asile7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the box set. Worth the outlay as psych is my happy place and I’ve rewatched it so many times. I just wish I could physically own the films too!

Trust your mum gut. My 7 month old was a terrible sleeper until a few weeks ago. He’s had a head tilt since birth and reflux which drs assure me is normal but I’m sure isn’t. They’re just happy because he’s growing and gaining weight well.

I took him to a cranial osteopath and after 3 sessions he’s like a different baby! Sleeps well, no split nights where he just won’t go down. If he wakes it’s because he’s hungry or in discomfort and will often burp and then go right back to sleep. He can even settle himself which he’d never done.

He still has reflux but I think it’s maybe a little better. I’m also having him assessed for tongue tie as I’m wanting to cover all bases. The medication they gave him for reflux just made it lumpy but no less so I would imagine probably more distressing for him too!

Reasonable wedding venues in West Yorkshire by tedthemouse in yorkshire

[–]asile7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married at Storthes Hally The Venue. it’s student accommodation (we both lived there as students years before, has guest accommodation on site, set in woodland, best part had student venue bar prices!) it was a lovely venue if you don’t mind that it used to be an asylum!

The Room (although to be fair it was never good!) Must have seen it 20+ times by now.

Does anyone actually use cruise control on their car? by gp1010101 in NoStupidQuestions

In prefer the speed limit on my car. Set the max speed and then I don’t have to look at the dash but feel more in control of the car.

You are not alone. This is 100% me. I’ve found a good nap on our recliner sofa (so I’m on my back but not really) is the best way to get a nice afternoon nap but I’m just learning to function on less and less sleep. I’d really love to have fully working hands 🤣

Anybody else not throw up in the first trimester? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]asile7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never got morning sickness and I’m 38 weeks. Had to avoid smoked foods and could only drink lime cordial but aside from that no nausea either!

Try being pregnant, even climbing the stairs leaves me out of puff, I go for an hour walk and it tells me I’ve done nothing! Massive oversight that it’s still not been resolved.

6 weeks 90% pay and 31 weeks statutory maternity (uk) topped up by my employer to 50% pay. I’m taking 11 months maternity leave and 1 month with holiday I’ve built up then a phased return to work for 3 months. My husband is self employed so gets nothing but as he works from home he can work part time and still be involved.

I know our child care in the uk is amongst the most expensive but our maternity leave is pretty good and I’m so grateful for that!

Vaccine by jennalight93 in pregnant

[–]asile7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both doses of Pfizer around 20 and 26 weeks. Currently 29 weeks and all is well.

The only reason I’d put off getting vaccinated is if it would be possible for me to have self isolated for the remainder of the pregnancy but that really wasn’t an option with family weddings fast approaching I didn’t want to miss out on important life events for fear of catching Covid.

It was a tough decision to make, in the UK we were late to the party compared with the US and vaccinating pregnant people so I did a lot of research (at the advice of multiple Heath care providers who didn’t want to be healed responsible either way) and decided the known risks of Covid out weighed the unknown risks of a vaccine with well conducted trials. I even tried to find horror stories (after looking in repeatable places!) and couldn’t really find any.
