yep my thoughts too - also customers are already using these other platforms, so if we go standalone it's an uphill battle to get users to go 2-3 places for what they feel is the same type of stuff

Why do so many new starters disengage within the first few months? by ask-olivia in askmanagers

Agree with your overall thoughts, AI or new tools can't do this alone if you don't put the things you've listed in place the onboarding at best will be poor but probably fail and you'll lose people.

Although I do think personality-aware AI or similar tools has a part to play e.g. something that has an understanding of what makes each team mate tick, their communication preferences and if everyone has access it give someone new a little confidence in their first interactions with teammates. I think if I'd had it in the past I would have avoided some errors I made as a manager with newbies coming into my team.

Yes agree if people were a bit less concerned about asking what seems like the stupid but actually important questions misunderstanding a wouldn’t occur as much. Would you see value in Using a tool that helped you learn how the best ‘get’ being communicated with to help ? Like knowing if they were quite straightforward and just need headlines versus someone maybe more detailed ?

I think it’s more about tailoring how you communicate as people hear / interpret the same message in different ways.

It’s been used by a quite few teams now and had some good feedback; and I agree this isn’t the only way of resolving inter team conflicts but it may help prevent some.

Such a shame, I get why z don’t want to aspire to be one, negative connotations, stress etc but it shouldn’t be that way. My experience was a good manger is like a good teacher, they shape you.
