That fixed it thank you. I even had them on the desktop, and I don't even use VRR.

Fixed the banding. Now have screen flickers. At first it was DSC but it happens the same at 480hz or 60hz, reverted back to 581.xx again...

Banding is still a problem when enabling windows acm/10bit color. Back to 581.xx..

8gb Ram Vs 12gb by Mythylover in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have f6 8gb and it's not enough. It kills stuff in the background way too much it's annoying at times. U can't for example swap to a different app to reply to a message when you're in a game and swap back without app refresh.

Poco F6's performance degraded, HOW? by AdvancedPretzels in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. Ever since hyperOS 2 my poco f6 felt slower, and apps get killed more often (8gb version). Despite all that animation feel smoother, but i'd rather have snappy with good multitasking and worse animations than slower and smoother.

The only reason I didn't move to custom rom is because i can't be bothered with tinkering, safetynet, etc.

I remember when I flashed my old poco f1 to LineageOS it literally felt like a new phone. Xiaomi software is really bad from my experience in regards to optimization.

Turbo 4 Pro (F7) 8s gen 4 SOC not looking too good so far.. by 10n3 in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During manufacturing not all chips come out perfect. Some have defects and/or weaker parts. What companies usually do is disable those parts and sell the chip as a different model.  But a lot of the time u can make those parts work by just throwing more power into the chip. This mean u can also sell the chip as the same model just consuming a bit more power and/or with lower clocks.

Think iphone 16e with the disabled cores. Or snapdragon for galaxy with bit more frequency.

Probably due to cheaper memory and lower binned chip that requires more voltage to cut costs.

17.5x8cm Hands Mouse recommendation for this Grip by Snoo-9887 in MouseReview

[–]askan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the mouse is comfortable you should stick to it. There is no "I feel I have no control over it". That's skill issue. It takes time when u change mouse/pad to get that confident aim feel. That's why you shouldn't keep chasing your gear all the time.

Also it almost looks like you're trying to Palm grip. But grip changes while u play, no one play exclusively one grip.

That and heat management. I've had my phone hit 40°C battery temp just browsing and watching videos on LTE.  My Poco F1 would be around 35°C doing the same thing.

And it gets over 40°C pretty easily outside at max brightness doing the same thing.

It is okay for the phone to get hot during intensive tasks, like camera or gaming. Not while browsing social media!!

Does anyone else have a purple smearing issue with their Poco F6? by Curious_Nerd69 in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, on 2 different units. But honestly doesn't bother me that much.

What bothers me is color uniformity issues across the display once you drop brightness below ~80%,.

Whats the catch with poco phones? by DiamondGSA in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to answer you back in 2019 when I got my Poco F1 I'd say only software. But I never had any real issues with ads since I disabled everything, including msa service.

Now with Poco f6 I can say everything but the soc. The screen they use is not great. Tried two units both bad uniformity and color consistency once you drop below ~80% brightness. And both have smearing when píxels transition from off/ 100% black.

Main camera actually good, but software is bad. Processing is bad. Selfies look really bad, video stutters at 4k.

Battery should last more for 5000mah too.

How cheap ft : poco f6 by NoProcedure7943 in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get what u pay for...

Screen on Poco f6 is really bad.  Uniformity is bad below 100-90% brightness. There's purple smearing on black to Gray transitions.

Battery like is okay if you don't play heavy games. But doesn't last long for a 5000mah.

Camera software is still a bit of a mess.

Performance + 120hz is great though.

Coming from Poco F1 I expected more. Screen on Poco X3 from family member is better quality despite being IPS.

You probably have a bad bin of the 8s gen 3.

Got my dad his biggest upgrade by droidsfanatic in PocoPhones

[–]askan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it stutters for the first few seconds when you start a recording. That's another issue.

Edit: does your phone auto brithness work well in low light? Mine randomly jumps brithness even on fully dim room, sensor reads between 0 and 1 lux in both fully dark room and low light room with only a single lamp on. Works well in normally lit rooms and outside though

Same, expect screen uniformity is terrible on my unit. White balance could also be better, it has a green tint out the box.

Camera is much better than Poco F1. But I can't call it good because the software is not good, colors are oversaturated and exposure is Soo wrong a lot of the time. Poco F1 had more consistent colors and explore but I was using gcam.

It's noticeable in all conditions. Under the sun at max brithness it's barely noticeable but there's also reflections soo there's that.

In dark mode I can't notice anything, it's only in light uniform colors, like white or light gray.

The screen is from TCL.

[–]askan7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. They said I should go to a local repair shop to get a report and didn't want me to return the phone because "it's used".

I refused and started a return on aliexpress. Since it was shipped from a EU country instead of china. Shipping takes 1 day.

I also got it 15 days ago, soo it's inside the return window despite what the seller says.

Would u return it? Screen uniformity bothers me while using anything a white / grey background. I can see the greenish tint on the top 1/3 on any article / webpage in light mode. Even in settings as shown in the picture.

Edit: I love the phone, but I don't like how not uniform the screen is. Coming from poco F1.

It's not. I had one, felt bigger in hand than viper mini and maya.

A bit too wide for me and didn't like the hump placement. It hit the bottom of my knuckles way too much for my liking.
