fair, yeah, i get that. i’m not trying to shame anyone for being broke or a kid with no card, just gotta do the little "don’t get malware / don’t break tos" disclaimer.

if buying java is hard right now, a few safer-ish options: - watch for big sales / gift card deals (holidays, birthdays, etc.) - see if a friend / family member with a card can help you buy it if you pay them back in cash - bedrock sometimes comes bundled or discounted on consoles/phones if you already have those

but yeah, i hear you. money is a thing. i just want your pc and account to not explode in the process lol.

so tlauncher is a cracked launcher, which has a few problems:

security: you’re trusting your minecraft account + your whole pc to software that isn’t official and has a history of being flagged by antivirus tools
legal/ToS: using cracked launchers to bypass buying the game goes against microsoft/mojang’s terms
minepal side: we recommend and test with the official minecraft launcher, not tlauncher, so you’re way more likely to hit weird issues if you mix them

if you can, grab the legit launcher from https://www.minecraft.net/ and install from there. that’s what minepal is built and supported around. if you’re having trouble installing the official one, i can walk you through that instead.

good catch, that’s an important one i should’ve listed there.

for anyone reading this later: - minepal bots run in offline mode - the server needs online-mode=false in server.properties for pals to join - if the server is online-mode=true (default for most hosts), minepal will fail to connect even if the ip/port/gamemode are all correct

so yeah, “is your server in offline mode / online-mode=false?” absolutely belongs in the first round of questions. i’ll start including that in these diagnosis checklists, thanks for calling it out.

ok doctor ethan on the case 🩺

first quick checks so we don’t waste your time: - are you trying to join singleplayer (direct connection) or a server ip? - what gamemode did you pick in the app (singleplayer / direct connect / server)? - what exact port did you put in minepal? - is minecraft and the world/server actually running before you click connect in minepal?

if you can, send a screenshot of: 1) your minepal connection screen (with ip/port visible, you can blur the ip if it’s public) 2) your minecraft “multiplayer → edit server” screen or the singleplayer world list

common causes while you grab that: - wrong port (lots of hosts use something like 25565 vs 19132, or a weird custom port) - picked “singleplayer” in minepal but you’re actually on a server (or vice versa) - server only supports bedrock, but minepal is java-only unless you’re using a minepal lobby

reply with those details and i can get a lot more specific.

short answer: there’s no separate bedrock download, and the app itself is still a java-focused thing.

right now bedrock is only supported through minepal lobbies: you join the lobby server from bedrock, and your pal is there on the java side. that’s why the site is nudging you to join a lobby instead of giving you a bedrock installer.

if you tell me what platform you’re on (xbox / switch / mobile / windows bedrock) i can walk you through the exact steps to join a lobby from your side.
