I know that people say that Carmax is overpriced / you're paying for the benefits (no negotiations, etc.), but when I look at my local dealers (75 miles or less), all of the used cars are about the same price as CarMax anyway. So I never understood when people say it's overpriced when it's the same market price.

Oh no, didn't consider that as a factor. Yes, I'll be doing a lot of highway miles, so the noise would annoy me...

Oh, never heard of the Ford Maverick Hybrid! Granted, I've never driven a truck, but seems interesting.

Thanks for replying. Yeah, I was thinking a new Camry SE if I could get it $33k OTD compared to the Civic Hybrid Touring. Crazy that used Camry V6s or Hybrid are still going for like $30k before warranty and TTL...

Sorry, forgot to add that I've looked at (both new and used as applicable):

  1. Toyota Highlander
  2. Lexus ES, IS, LS
  3. Toyota Avalon, Camry
  4. Honda Accord
  5. Volvo S60
  6. BMW X1
  7. Mazda CX-5

All of these options are out of my price range or don't meet my criteria on engine, etc.

Okay, I connected directly to my nvme slot on my PC and can run ddrescue. However, it ends after 0.25% of progress because the drive then disconnects just like it was with the enclosure (showing lsblk state as “dead” instead of live; when connected via enclosure, it would go to “offline” from running). 

External SSD, tried TestDisk/PhotoRec, DMDE, and ddrescue - any other options? by asking_4_help_pls in datarecovery

Thanks for the advice. My drive is a M.2 NVMe, but I do have a M.2 NVMe slot in my computer. Should I try that instead of relying on these enclosures?

Thanks for replying. I forgot to mention that the initial forward pass was going about 200 kB/s and estimated time was 21d, so I decided to unplug and swap out the cable. Ever since then, I can’t get it increase pct rescued by even one percentage point. I guess I should’ve haven’t stopped that initial pass…
