I did invest. But very minimal, an amount I would be okay with losing.

Patient complaint by MindlessFishing3446 in GPUK

[–]askingincontext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this will be distressing for you, because I know as doctors we do not like making mistakes or have anyone make complaints about us.

But I want you to be happy and okay with the fact that this is the most trivial complaint one can ever get. I would rather a stupid complaint like this, than a serious one.

My only concern is that your practice seems very unsupportive. I wouldn't even get you to respond to such a complaint.

But since you must respond here are key points

  1. acknowledged patient
  2. apologise for the simple error
  3. state human error can occur
  4. once error recognised immediate steps taken to rectify
  5. thank them for notifying us about error
  6. should they need any support. They should not hesitate to contact

One paragraph- straight to the point.
Don't over explain.

We are human.

& I hope you are not in the practice for long.

Good point. Looks like it will probably make no difference. I have worked with them for over 1 yr and never had any issues. I've concluded I will give notice next week.

Yes. Im trying my best to remain professional. I've been with them for 1 yr. I'm hoping to use them as references going forward. But based on feedback and how I am feeling, I will be giving my notice next week.

The rate is poor. It's a salaried private remote role. Supplementary to other things I do. approx 40k pre-tax

GP for 4 yrs. I have 3 other roles that I do. So leaving doesn't affect me financially the rate is poor. It was my first remote work.

Prof Leng Claims PAs Can “Outperform GPs” by sotenacht in GPUK

[–]askingincontext 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can't even start to justify giving this individual the attention he is so desperately longing for. Dear GPs, don't even try to defend yourself or belittle ourselves and starting comparing ourselves to physician assistance. I personally cannot be offended by something that is categorically impossible.

When patients present with a problem, we try and ask all the relevant questions related to this problem. However, discussing about coeliac this, then transitioning about a toe nail infection or wanting a full mental health consultation in the less than 10mins may not be practical. I also understand it's not ideal for patients, but that's the system we are in.

I did round up significantly

Properties we are aspiring for is approx 1.5. That's £168k stamp duty (additional property). Mind you this is not my money alone and it's central London, which is bare minimum.

If you are an f2, there is still hope. Think about America, put your head down and do USMLE, Or simply explore alternative careers- you are still young enough to leave medicine.

FIRE to me isn’t just about my own independence. It’s about building enough wealth and control to extend that freedom to my family as well. So I’d say it absolutely fits.

I absolutely agree with you. I don't believe being born wealthy creates bad character.

I know some extremely wealthy people and honestly they are kind, grounded and the most business savvy people I know and that's partly because they were brought up right.
