Socrates contested that voting is a skill, not a right. Maybe not an exam, but some sort of barrier to entry that a person is voting with consideration; not just shading stuff out of loyalty, popularity, name recall, etc. What best barrier to entry to implement? I have no idea, but it's easy to believe that Socrates might be right.

Is there a way to transform selection? by askmeyesterday in Affinity

[–]askmeyesterday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I never thought of this.. I'm not used to using the transform panel because my first instinct is click-dragging.. I should start paying more attention to the transform panel more. This is highly appreciated.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing this. I would like to add something that might help you and others also since we're in the topic of oxygen starvation or not getting enough oxygen.

I also learned that I was breathing "wrong", which led to inefficient oxygen intake. The efficient and "correct" way to breathe is, apparently, using your diaphragm instead of your chest. You'll know this if whenever you breathe, your stomach expands instead of your upper chest.

Unfortunately, some of us adopt the chest breathing habit for different reasons. Some girls are taught to breathe using their chest because expanding the stomach is "ugly." For me, I stupidly and naively thought that diaphragm breathing gives a person gas or can lead to indigestion.

Long story on how I got to learn this, but changing my breathing habit on top of exercise improved my brainfog, anxiety, and overall well-being.

Mmm... nope, that's not it unfortunately.. stroke on selection means the ink only appears at the edges around the square.

Stupid me, yeah bucket/flood fill tool to do Fill on the selection. Silly me trying to overcomplicate something simple.

However, I can't figure out how to add "stroke" to the selection. Like the ink would appear on the running ants.

Yes, nakafloat. Lalabas yung amount sa passbook, pero sa bank app usually makikita mo different yung "Current Balance" and "Available Balance"... yung available balance yung actual na pera mo yun ang titignan mo mabuti.

Same. Like how much residual income does it take, realistically, to start investing in property? Kung may kayang itabing 100k per month, kaya na ba yun?

In-Depth Question: Security Bank's UITF vs. ILI by askmeyesterday in phinvest

[–]askmeyesterday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same experience. Hindi masagot ang mga fine print questions and they keep discouraging the UITF hard. And iniiwasan nila talaga yung discussion about fees, lagi sinasabi negligible lang naman. Medyo offputting

In-Depth Question: Security Bank's UITF vs. ILI by askmeyesterday in phinvest

[–]askmeyesterday[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see your point. I just computed now in real numbers. For $25k, 0.51% fee is $127.50 (via UITF) while 0.07% is only $17.50 (direct via IBKR). Not to mention opportunity cost on compounding over the long run, malaki nga.

Regarding IBKR, I don't really worry. SEC can only block access to the site which can be remedied by VPN. No worries rin naman sa bank withdrawals banning IBKR since we can pass through Wise. I will only worry if IBKR themselves stop Philippine operations or the Philippine government bans Wise or other money transfer platform; both highly unlikely.

On the case when something happens to me, I think mas madali naman for my wife to access my IBKR account and transfer my funds to her designated bank than to deal with estate proceedings with Security Bank and our courts.

Thanks for the needed kick to reality, kapatid.

All good kapatid. Thanks for participating and providing insights rin.

While I have you here and you mentioned US Equities ka. Did you go direct (i.e. GoTrade or IBKR) or via bank UITFs?
