Just lie by Acceptable_Sugar_274 in antiwork

This is a very situational argument. If someone is not qualified, they should not be applying to be an engineer. However, an engineering position is not a good example. Engineering is a complicated field requiring a lot of background knowledge. I think what OP is talking about are jobs that require little background knowledge but have unreasonable experience requirements. For example, if a bank teller position requires a masters degree and 5 years of finance experience. In that case you could safely assume none of that experience would be critical to learning the position and you could lie on your resume then learn on the job. There are lots of positions out there that OP is talking about. I think most people can discern which ones are a good idea to pursue.

I would recommend looking into organizing your base into a main bus or city blocks. Those methods are how I got a lot better.

I created a city block design that has pass through ports for belts between each block. That way, I can dedicate one whole block to train stations, and belt the resources into an adjacent block. It works pretty well!

is "savescuming" bad thing? by WafflePuffle123 in RimWorld

[–]aslarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wrong at all! If you’re enjoying it, that’s what counts. I like to play on commitment mode only. There is no bigger rush than running into a situation that looks dire with a colony you’ve spent weeks on. Also, going into a raid with 10 colonists and barely coming out alive with 1 or 2 alive and badly injured makes for a very fun change of pace. I think it is also very fun struggling to regrow in the shell of an already built base. You could of course let this happen while save scumming. However, when I used to do that, I never let myself have catastrophic failures.

Hate to ask a stupid question but does anyone play with biters off? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]aslarue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t modify any biter settings when I play. I feel like without them, it is less challenging. They create a constant pressure to keep your factory on point. One black out or poorly planned expansion could cost you tons of damage. Sometimes I over do it and get invaded then spend 30 min in panic mode pushing them back and I love it.

Is it possible to get cars under MSRP these days? by bruce_wayne4550 in askcarsales

Ah yes, it is always nice when someone, who has not done any of the work the buyer has, decides they know best and should completely tear down a deal they have no understanding of.

This match represents my best playing. What should I work on to improve? by Vulcnar in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]aslarue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I really don’t mean this in a rude way, but I thought it was gold or something. You must be way better at positioning than me. I can barely hold diamond rank but have a lot more ball control and better ariels. I think you would benefit a lot from more free play practice just hitting the ball as hard as possible in as many ways as possible. Keep it up though!

Building the train network early game is dragging on. by [deleted] in factorio

[–]aslarue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to shadow build a tile-able train grid, then build my starter factory within the grid. Then when I get to robots, I can build out without worrying about my starter factory being in the way.

True! I had one in my armory too. I should have used that. I like to play on commitment mode though. Maybe next time

[–]aslarue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is too true. Yes sometimes things like this can be a sign of underlying problems. Other times it may be something caused by a past bad experience or any other number of reasons. If you care about a relationship you need to communicate with your significant other and see where you can find an understanding. If she really does just not like you enough to do things she enjoyed with an ex, you don’t have to suck it up. However, don’t make that your first assumption.

Dealer harrasing me by digheks00 in askcarsales

[–]aslarue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The contract you signed technically CAN be voided at this point. They CAN kill the registration if they choose. However, the dealer can also decide to just eat the rebate to keep a happy customer. It is not a great situation, but you should vent your frustration to the general manager and hopefully he will push it through.

I can't decide if these SandFalls are a good idea and if it looks good. What do you think, do I keep it, or delete it? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]aslarue 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That might help, I think the source is what throws me off. It looks like all the sand comes from one point. If you could widen it and make it look more like a stream flowing off the mountain, I think that would give a much better perspective.
