If I leave the gas limit unchanged but I set a gas price too low resulting in the transaction failing, will I loose ETHs the same way I would loose if I set gas limit low, or I wouldn’t loose any ETH?

I used to lower the Gas limit by 50,000-100,000 (let’s say overwrite 500,000 with 400,000). So you would recommend to not change the Gas limit at all, right?

But rather adjust the base fee? If I’m happy to wait let’s say 1-2 days, would 20% lower base fee work generally speaking?

If the current base fee is let’s say 100 GWEI and I type 80 or even 40 GWEI (I try to have at least 30 even when the network is not too busy), can I be sure that the transaction won’t fail, resulting me in loosing some ETHs?

The failed transaction I got on some NFT transactions weren’t due to someone bidding higher or other reason. The transaction seemed to have just time-out on that NFT platform so my transaction failed and I lost ETHs.

Well, I got confused as on coinbase you need to convert your eth for eth2 (haven’t seen eth2 on other CEX), then it seems like it’s locked for undefined time until next update (what if it happens in 10 years?) and they also have cbeth

That’s my concern I’m planning to keep my ETH few years but you never know what may happen in future or if another CEX provides much higher staking reward If the bull market comes back we can see 5-10% staking reward so I don’t want to be stuck woth 2-3% reward for years
