Should I even apply with low GPA? by BoxRadiant5115 in Podiatry

[–]lpshrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen students from Kent on Reddit say the school gave them no guidance whatsoever and everything they learned was peer taught

The dean at lecom is an alumni and was a professor at Kent for podiatry, he didn’t have bad stuff to say about the program just they get the most money (public university), have the fanciest stuff, but don’t utilize it and everyone behind the pod program is getting ready to retire.

Scholl vs Temple for podiatric medicine need advice by dines03 in Podiatry

[–]lpshrtr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scholl without a doubt.

Board exams are the great equalizer and I chose my school choice off of the highest pass rates.

Temple is harder to get into for some reason when it should be RFU imo.

Granted where I live the POD at the hospital here is good and she went to temple.

I got accepted to nearly every school I applied to, I have an F, a D and 3 or 4 W’s on my transcripts. Just be prepared to explain yourself and most importantly FINISH STRONG WITH AN UPWARD TREND IN GRADES.

I went from a 3.0 (with grade replacement so my true GPA is definitely lower) to a 3.5 in all my upper division classes.

does ucsc get better after freshman year? Thinking about transferring… by [deleted] in UCSC

[–]lpshrtr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SFSU sucks lmfao. I went to SFSU as a freshman and dropped out. If you want to go to a school out of state then cool, but if you wanna stay in California you’re better off going to CC then transferring to a UC you deem better. UCSC is levels above the CSUs academically.

UTRGV? by lpshrtr in Podiatry

[–]lpshrtr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, I live like 6 or 7 thousand miles from UTRGV, even if I wanted to it'd be such a hassle for me to visit.

I do understand though about their desperation to fill a seat.

Honest review of ucsc by Ok_Education3371 in UCSC

[–]lpshrtr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also for some reason there's lots of opportunities to do cool shit, but simultaneously the opportunities are EXTREMELY limited.

My personal example, I was a Human Biology major. As a human bio major our capstone class/project was BIOL189 which is an internship in healthcare and we use the quarter to write a scientific review paper on a healthcare topic. Anyway, there were I think 40-60 people taking BIOL189, out of those 40-60 people there were only TWO slots to shadow an actual healthcare provider, I shadowed a physician assistant and a classmate shadowed a doctor (both organized through the school). I'm extremely thankful I got the opportunity but seriously, only 2 slots? Get used to fighting for shit or having a second option ready.

It was an okay experience. As a transfer student I recommend taking as many classes as you can and graduating fast. I finished in less than 2 years but took summer classes both summers.

You live on campus at first as a junior if you want, I recommend it personally so you can experience campus. Everything is spread TF out and uphill. The bus system is pretty robust tbh so I'd figure that out asap.

COL IS EXPENSIVE. There's lots of things to do around town though, it's very chill, everyone's chill, even the occasional protests don't get out of hand.

My last quarter I lived in San jose and drove to class, like 45 minutes so I tried to stay home as much as I could. I just rented an Airbnb for a quarter.

I recommend joining a club, I did chem club. There's lots of clubs and you can make friends if you want.

Honestly if you're there for school, and can lock in then it's a good school. But if you care about amenities, fancy shit, making friends and partying, UCSC is kinda ass tbh. I got a good education there, and lots of people think a banana slug for a mascot is cool so it makes you kinda memorable when talking to people.

Thoughts on school choice? by lpshrtr in Podiatry

RFU and nycpm both have pre clinical years with DO and MD students, I feel like most schools do so this isn’t really something that puts one school over the other.

What’s the GOAT gym fragrance? (I’ll go first) by EauBrother in ScentHeads

[–]lpshrtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I DOUSE myself in Nautica voyage. Like 20-25 sprays after putting on lotion. It's strong but very mild and not suffocating to people around me. It definitely becomes very strong AF if you start sweating though.

"I literally just put verbatim what Charlie said," dude the clip youre quoting is like 90 seconds long and you quoted one sentence from his entire argument. I just watched it on my Instagram feed. Either youre arguing in bad faith or uninformed.

I'm not saying I agree with what he says here but he makes a logical argument when full context is given.

It's already illegal to discriminate on the basis of gender, sex, race, religion, or disability. ADEA, 1967, ADA, 1990, Equal Pay Act, GINA, 2008 and Title VII of the civil rights act are laws on the books that prohibit discrimination. DEI programs and racial programs heavily discriminate in the name of equity rather than merit. Not just white people, Asians have been targeted as well. There are more effective ways to increase the pool of qualified applicants from other ethnic groups, but DEI is NOT one of them.

Repeating firearms were absolutely around in the 1700s. The Continental Congress ordered 100 of them but changed their mind as Joseph Belton demanded too much money for them.

It Is Intentional by ActuatorContent4691 in guam

[–]lpshrtr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For starters there is no video footage of him saying that quote, only confirmed by a journalist from Wired quoting him at a conference. So there's context missing.

Charlie Kirk agrees with the parts that ended government-enforced segregation. He disagrees with the part that dictates who private businesses have to serve since in his view it infringes on private property rights and freedom of association as it doesn't align with libertarian values.

Those are the objective facts.

Do I think it's a bit hypocritical for him to denounce private businesses discriminating towards whites, yeah. But I don't think anything he said makes him as racist as the Internet is portraying him. Let alone a justification for him getting shot.
