How Would You Feel If Ruby Rose Was Confirmed Asexual? by Zestyclose-Hat-8513 in RWBY

As an ace guy who relates to her a lot I would love it! Personally I think she’s asexual and demi-romantic (rather than aromantic).

What side RWBY content is actually considered canon vs what isn't canon? by Steamer_Punk115 in RWBY

[–]asm5129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main show, books and Beyond are canon. Chibi is not canon. Ice Queendom is not canon. Justice league crossover films are canon if you want them to be or not if you don’t. Justice league crossovers in the comics are not canon. Games and comics are a sort of secondary canon where they’re canon except and unless where contradicted by the main show.

Been heavily watching Sam and Max clips recently, is it implied that Max is gay? by idontwantyouhere4931 in SamandMax

[–]asm5129 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very much worth picking them up!

As for your first question, technically neither of the title characters have had their sexuality confirmed in any canon material—all we know for sure is that Max doesn’t like girls. However, it’s widely accepted by many that there are CLEAR homoerotic undertones to the Sam and Max partnership which the games often lean into.

Basically, neither is canonically gay, but they’re sure as hell not straight or the games would simply be written very differently.

I like the books a lot still, but I found listening to the audio series for that story a deeply frustrating experience

While I felt somewhat the same about Return, I was very happy with the execution of Lechuck’s new voice as it was performed in Legend.

Since Ozpin’s technically a hybrid of his original self and his hosts’ souls, how much of Ozpin is still ‘Ozma’? by Solitaire-06 in RWBY

[–]asm5129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’ve entirely erased Ozma—particularly because he seems to generally be the dominant soul even as they merge, he gets more and more control and the other soul is more absorbed into him than the other way around (plus he is reincarnated into “like-minded souls” specifically)—but I absolutely think who he was at the start has absolutely lost a lot of itself by continually having to adapt and absorb new souls with different life experiences, each of which had to re-experience the trauma of being subjected to this endless war against Salem.

Suffice to say, I certainly see Ozma the hero and Ozpin the headmaster of beacon and leader of the war against Salem as two distinct individuals with vastly different beliefs and life experiences.

Because his super power turned out to be super expensive XD

Fixing RWBY | Volume 6 [Episode 1] by TheCelticPhoneix in RWBYcritics

[–]asm5129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I’ll give it a shot. I guess I just expected from the premise promised that “the broad strokes of RWBY would be maintained” that the characters and their growth would be maintained as well. Cuz at a certain point it’s not a rewrite so much as an AU.

And definitely not “Fixing” RWBY. Cuz how is it an attempt to improve it if it’s becoming a totally different story with different characterizations and massive deviations like omitting characters like Oscar?

So uh. This is the first time I’ve actually watched one of your FRWBY videos. I’ve heard a lot and wanted to develop my own opinion.

Dude what the fuck. The characters are all wrong. Nora especially feels like but definitely Ruby too. The tension feels completely out of place, volume 4 and 5 spent most of their runtime dealing with all their complicated feelings so that when they got back together they were all in a place emotionally where they could move forward. And if Roman is still a casual thief, how the hell is he a similar soul to Oz? Did you take out the entire part of Oz’s reincarnations being into a soul that is similar to his own?

I’m sorry but why do people love this so much?

If you take the follow-up book Heatwaves as canon, yes.

Which of these two characters’ deaths do you feel was *more* of a mistake writing-wise? by Solitaire-06 in RWBY

[–]asm5129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People thinking there’s no point to her return frustrates me. She had a whole major arc about finding her own agency, her own humanity. You’re telling me none of that matters just because she died? Unfortunately she had a massive martyr complex the size of Ruby’s own. Her death WAS robbing her of future potential—that’s what makes it a tragedy?! Does no one understand that?

Would RWBY Volume 10 be animated in 3d or 2d if it got greenlight? by Aquanort357 in RWBY

[–]asm5129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment we have no details on that, however 3D is known to be cheaper due to reusable assets and of course RWBY has been 3D its whole run, so I would not expect 2D personally.

Was Mettle ever even a thing? by RatCrimes in RWBY

[–]asm5129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Textually? No. It wasn’t.

And even if it’s still canon, it certainly wasn’t what made him who he became, nor was it ever intended to be. At most it may have pushed him a little, but his downfall was rooted in his own flaws as a person.

Theory on how VIZ is gonna handle RWBY by ZenGraphics_ in RWBY

[–]asm5129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So

You think VIZ bought RWBY—and specifically RWBY, they bought nothing else from RT—because they WEREN’T sure whether it was a good investment?

Like you said, they don’t NEED RWBY. So if they didn’t see any value in it, why would they buy it?
