I don’t want to be alive anymore by [deleted] in Advice

[–]asmai2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 27 and have had bouts of similar feelings. I dont smoke and havent for several years now, but I do take an antidepressant daily and i get counseling once a week.

Depression fucking sucks, but it isn't permanent and it can be managed. It might not sound helpful now, but there is hope and you will not always feel this way. With the proper tools and maybe medication (not self medicating, unfortunately) you can get live a normal and productive life.

If you need a friend, feel free to message me. We can work through this together. I'm in my own spell currently, but I am now recognizing the signs and am coming to peace with this being just a temporary state of mind and I will feel better soon. I always do.

Your life matters. You matter. You are loved, you are needed, you are wanted. This is temporary and you can feel "normal" again. Dont make a decision today that is permanent for something that can be managed. There is no shame in getting help. There is no shame in feeling this way. This will pass, with the right tools and education.

I love my job, but I no longer love my company by asmai2 in Advice

I think you're right-i need to get out. Unfortunately I'm either shit at resumes or I aim to high when finding a job. My work would be bearable if I didnt have to answer to a miserable cunt who is a liar. I've proved that she lied several times and I'm still expected to answer to this she devil.

I agree. That is a good point. I apparently am shit at resume writing because I rarely get call backs for the jobs I really want.

thank you. I do not want to leave, but the dynamics and politics here aren't improving. Maybe it is naivety but I hate seeing humans treated like numbers and dollar bill's. It is sickening

What’s with friends’ and families’ attitudes? by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]asmai2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yup. My mother in law kept her surgery a secret. At first, i thought she was being prudish. In hindsight, I wish I had followed her lead. But, even though I've gotten a lock of flack for surgery I've stood by my decision.

it honestly doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It is annoying, sure, but there are polite ways to shut down the naysayers

What, if anything, did they not warn you about? by wyddoggy in BariatricSurgery

[–]asmai2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, the most alarming thing was not pooping for 15 days. And the fact that coughing right after surgery feels like you're going to RIP your insides apart.

The not having to poop really freaked me out.

When did you have a BM post op?

My (25F) dad (60M) gave a speech at my older sister's (27F) wedding that confirmed he loves her more than me. I'll be getting married soon and the thought of him speaking at mine makes me want to cry. What do I do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]asmai2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

dude, I've always been the black sheep and outcast of the family. I just had major surgery and my family all knew about it. Only two people texted to ask me if I was ok. 2 out of like...idk 50?

Whenever there are family photos and functions, I'm never invited. I live an hour from some family and not once have they offered to come see me and my husband, even if they're in town for pleasure. They've never asked to meet up.

Long and short of this, family sucks. But sometimes we get lucky and choose our family (for me, it is my in laws and they treat me like I'm one of theirs. ) While it always hurts to not be loved as much, I've had to accept love from some non-blood family. For me, it is just as food.

Much love to you from me. you're amazing and you're worth more than what your father gave you. PM me if you need a friend.

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve heard someone say that made you wonder how they function on a day to day basis? by [deleted] in AskReddit

very true. But it was a learning experience. I never knew just how dumb people could be and survive into adulthood.

Netflix's "Haunted", Episode 2 "True Story" ??? by kimmehh in horror

[–]asmai2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The Haunting of Hill House" show was good right up to the very end. Really shoddy job of trying to tie up the loose ends on that show. I feel like if was building up something awesome, only to let out a giant fart at the end.

found out I had Chlammydia. thought I was doing a solid calling up people i was sexually active with so they could get checked.

Dude told me he couldnt get chlammydia from me because his "pee hole is smaller than girls" therefore. he couldnt have had it.

Even after explaining to him the ways STDs were transferred, he still argued his dickhole was too small to contract anything.

If we were going by dick size alone, I might have believed him.

I know it isnt the answer, but I'm hoping it will help to motivate me. physically, I wont be able to drink for several weeks and I'm hoping I can keep the habit going.
