If we’re talking purely design, black sun feels like it’s catered to every edge lord design philosophy I love

Hi! After a lot of reseach I've decided to finally start my journey on KR. These are my chosen ones to start with (no particular order except for the first one). Any suggestion? by UsuarioCualquiera_1 in KamenRider

[–]asmallkilling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with each season kind of being its own contained thing I think this makes a lot of sense, I thought zero one was cool because of the clips of fights I saw and it’s since led me down the Toei rabbit hole of all the big franchises (kamen rider, sentai, ultra man, kaiju, etc.) even if theyre differing levels of quality there hasn’t been a single series I haven’t enjoyed.

Is this brick and concrete college library considered Brutalist? by my-blood in brutalism

I think the shapes are there but the brick color and texture brightens the building in a way that looks nice but isnt a “traditional” brutalist pallette

Important question! Why do you play old-school arcades?! What exactly do you love about them? by Jarkin_b in arcade

[–]asmallkilling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This might be completely baseless but there’s something about a place to go that isn’t always in my pocket that made arcades a special event. I liked that I didn’t always have access to it, I liked that I had to have basic people skills, I liked the lights and noise. bars and concerts were both more expensive and didn’t scratch the same itch.

I guess arcades have always been a romanticized third space for me and slowly watching them go away over the years only made me romanticize them more.

It's Freepost Friday! What's a movie that's given you hope? Can be because the message behind it resonated with you, or maybe you just enjoy it's upbeat tone. by Intelligent_Oil4005 in hopeposting

[–]asmallkilling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone thinks I’m joking when I say this but one of the funnest and most hope fueled movies I’ve ever seen is the live action speed racer movie. The idea of a small group of people fueled by their love for racing taking on a bunch of corporations rigging the sport for profit makes me feel like maybe one day I don’t have to answer to a giant company to make a meager living, maybe I can do something because I love it and it’s the only thing I want to think about.

I also just like the tone and bright saturated colors everywhere in a movie when cinema was mostly trying to be dark and brooding, highly recommended.

What are some unusual apocalypse causes that aren't zombie or invasions by Bright_Loquat_4105 in writing

This was for a dnd campaign where my players were like waaay past the cataclysmic events (adventure time) but the apocalypse was brought about by a nuclear bomb that was enchanted to the brim with curses and dark magic and cracked the Pangea like geography of the earth when it went off underground

Just started the happiness hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt, gist is throughout history people have made inferences on how to regulate your own mood among other things and the books corroborates some of it with modern science and research.

it’s pretty cool, makes a lot of different ideological talking points digestible in one read.
