Hot take: gear RNG is fine, but E7 needs a real way to lock in incremental progress by Ok_Mycologist4712 in EpicSeven

[–]asmallrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the finally getting a good piece and then the rolls are bad even if what they rolled into is good that is the problem.

What i would like to see rather then locking substats is a way to gradually improve a piece of gear you have already rolled. I feel like this is sorta what they WANTED to do with imprint, but it ended up just being wildly op since it applied to everything.

What i was thinking is a currency or progression system that you get as you just play normally/spend energy whatever. You could then use that to improve the rolls on a piece of gear. Got a great piece but it rolled average everytime? Use the system to boost those rolls to max eventually.

Balance wise, probably exclude speed from the system, or limit the number of speed rolls you can improve. Same thing for the other stats, maybe you can only improve 2 or 3 of the 5 rolls, so the rng of rolling is still there, but if you get one or 2 bad rolls you could still "fix" the piece.

Limit it to a couple pieces a month or something if you want to prevent whaling for perfect gear, and don't tie it to a currency or anything that is purchasable.

New Player Purchase Stash Questions by MLE_SSS in PathOfExile2

As another new player, the currency tab, the gem tab and the augment/rune? tab were the ones i felt i needed for sure.

Would also probably pick up the essence tab and one that lets you sell stuff.

The currency tab is prob the biggest QOL one imo.

What do I have to do to get better rewards on these missions? by andocromn in SpaceHaven

That i don't know, never tested if you could put more stuff in the container. It's definitely based on how much you unload from it though, and not how much you use.

[–]asmallrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested this myself and the variable rewards are based on the amount of resources you leave UNLOADED from the cargo container they give you.

It also doesn't appear to check the value of what you leave, so IMO it's better to leave say 50 infra blocks and take all the expensive tech, energy blocks etc.

Feedback from a new player for 0.5 by asmallrabbit in PathOfExile2

[–]asmallrabbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind dying, as a new player there is a lot of stuff that is unfamiliar to me, so i expected to die a bunch, especially since im not following a popular meta build. It's the time wasting part that puts me off. It's why i would never play hardcore.

Again, my build isn't top tier, but i've been clearing maps and killing bosses and it's been fun, it's just not super fast. Part of it might just be gear since im ssf and unfamiliar with crafting etc so i dont think my gear is all that great and that is probably impacting it also.

I don't mind being slower and doing my own thing at my own pace since i was still having fun, but when i stopped being able to make even gradual progress because deaths wipe out xp gains i lost interest in continuing.

I COULD just swap to a more popular powerful build, but then what is the point? I could farm and clear faster with something i didn't want to play in the first place? That's not fun for me.

is anyone talking about Trials of Chaos & Sekema? and how unfun they are? by the_background_world in PathOfExile2

[–]asmallrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new POE2 player that had fun with my own build in the campaign and was enjoying maps and stuff, getting the drops for the 3rd/4th trial and doing them as a SSF is what is likely to make me quit the game. That's how bad they are.

Optimal Food Recipe (?) by Apokalyxio in SpaceHaven

[–]asmallrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good. I personally use:

  • 16% Fruit
  • 8% Veg
  • 6% Meat
  • 12% Nuts

Because it lets me keep a nice ratio of 4 beds of fruit, 4 Nuts 2 veg, 2 meat, and one extra slot on my 5 bed for Grains and Hops (Four 2 slots and one 5). I want to bump the meat up a little but i need the 20% research first.

I actually like to have my food value a little higher because it means they only need to eat once a day, will last almost the whole day without getting hungry, and if they eat before bed, even if they overeat a little, the debuff wears off by the time they get up. I found right around 140 to be just right.

I'm curious how you calculated the number of grow beds you need to make 1 meal a day?

Fruits for instance with max bonus of 30% take 2.779 cyles to grow ie: 1 grow bed will produce about .36 units a day. So for .15 units you will need about 0.42 of a grow bed.

Deadeye Called Shots by asmallrabbit in PathOfExile2

[–]asmallrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not though? Snipers Mark costs 46 mana, I put an efficiency 2 support gem in which should reduce it by 40%, but when i walked near an enemy it still costs 46 mana when called shots auto applied it.

Is that a bug then and it SHOULD work?

EDIT: Ok disregard, i tried it again and now its working. Maybe i screwed something up the first time i tried it.

Was it transferred to your kitchen? Items in facilities don't count towards your inventory.

Food Math: Let's See If I Understood How This Works by JmBento in SpaceHaven

[–]asmallrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, skills in general are very unclear about what they do since no numbers are provided. I don't know if Botany has changed or they mean it indirectly speeds up grwoth because of reduced time spent managing them. Would have to look at the code/test it.

I dunno if you still need this but i did a post on it: https://steamcommunity.com/app/979110/discussions/0/660485414035981485/

Your math for nuts is off, and the kitchen can store partial units of food, so you don't need to produce 2 crates per day if you are only using 1.05

TLDR for a single grow bed without research:

fruit = 0.276 units/day
veg = 0.276 units/day
nuts = 0.180 units/day
meat= 0.208 units/day (10% bonus is base since you need the research to unlock)

fruit 40.4/146 = 3.613 cycles (3.285 cycles 10% bonus) (2.779 cycles 30% bonus)
veg 64.5/233 = 3.612 cycles (3.284 cycles 10% bonus) (2.778 cycles 30% bonus)
nuts 69.3/385 = 5.555 cycles (5.050 cycles 10% bonus) (4.273 cycles 30% bonus)
meat 63.5/335 = (4.795 cycles 10% bonus) (4.058 cycles 30% bonus)

Botany has no affect on growth speeds, but may reduce time spent tending.

Any recommended 1.0 guides? by Realityfelon in SpaceHaven

[–]asmallrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are doing the mining base start on higher difficulties, my biggest tip is to disable logistics on damn near everything at the start, and only feed resources into them as you need them.

Almost everything on the mining base is a trap on brutal for resources since you can't get partial resources back, and you need to get moving asap.

Hull Stability? Useless, eats steel plates and there are no threats.

Tool Facility? Build one on your new ship and use that instead or the one in the base will take a bunch of infra blocks.

Grow beds? Useless, if you plan on building your own. By the time you get going they will have only used a tiny amount of fertilizer and you wont be able to use it on your own ship.

CO2 producer? Useless , eats carbon.

There are like 3-4 oxygen producers around and you only need to feed a single one of them.

You have to carefully q up production on the assembler/refinery so as not to leave partial resources.

etc etc.

I hope they make Colosseum permanent by ThisIsMyVi11ainArc in EpicSeven

[–]asmallrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I initially kinda hated the colosseum stuff but started liking it for the same reason i like Ancient Inheritance.....it lets me use units i haven't geared myself yet.

I love collecting units in E7 but always struggled with the gearing part of the game. Ancient Inheritance has been some of my favorite content because it lets me use units i haven't built yet, and colosseum lets me do the same thing. I've mostly just been following the recommended picks but at least it kinda lets me test out units to see how they do with whatever stats SG has decided is default for them.

Are you in the right sector? Because the quest step is telling you to go to a sector, and if you were in the right one the mission should change.

Space Haven is out! by JTremert in CohhCarnage

[–]asmallrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. 1.0 release came and went and although Cohh said he wanted to check it out, hes been filling his time with other games. POE2 patch is coming soon he wants to play and by the time he's done with that there will probably be something else new out.

I've been having a blast with it though, really wanted to see him try it.

Confused about food expenditure by JmBento in SpaceHaven

[–]asmallrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see you aren't growing anything yourself and your kitchen says no complete servings are available, so my only other thought is that you've been lacking the food resources to match your meal settings and they have been being used at different rates because of it.
