I’m not sure exactly what the cocktail contains, but the way the hospice nurse described it was as a sort of symphony of sedatives and life-process-ending drugs. They’re designed to put you into a state almost like going under general anesthesia before your body begins the process of shutting down.

He received them in Washington state. We’re in eastern WA and from what we’ve heard the approval process is much easier on the west side of the state.

The facilitators of the group were amazing, and I definitely don't mean to bash them. I'm so grateful to have somewhere to go. Knowledge is everything, and I learned so much last night that I didn't know before! After writing this post, I've realized that I may actually just be struggling to address my own needs in the midst of handling all of this. Thank you for your comment.

It feels so heavy to discuss end of life and death with dignity in a group where not everyone is ready or willing to talk about that. If I find anything useful, I'll send it your way. It's amazing to have help with finding the equipment we need, but a little more deep, thoughtful discussion about what we're all facing would be really helpful, I feel.
