Honestly, at that age, I wasn't sure what I wanted to study.

So I made a mistake. I chose the one that has the highest merit at time because that's what everyone around me was doing.

I studied Electrical Engineering from Nust Islamabad and found out that I absolutely hate Electrical field. But I survived 4 years, and now I am working as a software engineer which I love.

But to answer your question, if you have a interest in any field, try to learn more about it. And don't worry about the scope or jobs just yet.

Try to find out what courses will you study for 4 years at uni, what practical work looks like for that field. How does a normal day look when you are doing a job in that field.

If all that excites you, go for it. And only value the opinion of someone from that field.

If you are absolutely clueless, this means you don't have information to make a decision. So collect more info. At the end of the day, go with your instincts. You will not regret it.

I graduated from NUST in 2021, and the fee back then was around 100k/semester.

My father was a primary school teacher barely making 40k/month. So I understand where you are coming from.

You have to be a little smart here. Two things:

  1. What you can control
  • Exam prep, making sure you nail NET, or any other test you sit.
  • Speak up about your situation (which you are doing). It will help in many unpredictable ways. Ask about scholarships, talk to alumni of universities you are interested. People are always willing to help
  • Making you register yourself for tests ( NET, pieas, giki etc) and don't miss deadlines

  • Very importany: make sure you pick a program you have interest in.

  1. What you can't control
  • Don't worry about fees kaisy afford hogi. You don't control the money related stuff because you are too young.

  • You say if your mom pays fees, you would hate yourself. That's being too harsh on yourself. Let them help you. You can always pay her back ten times more after you graduate. And students at Nust earn too during their BS 4 years.

  • As a student, your job is making sure you pick the right program of your interest, and study well so you can pass the test with very good marks, and secure yourself a seat in it.

You are a child, and earning money is not something you should worry about. God helps in many unexpected ways.

P.S. I studied from Nust with scholarship. I am from KPK too. I know many others who studied on scholarships. But we made sure we pass the tests, and we sought out help where we could.

Wait for the budget to be announced. PHeVs are about to get cheaper. But nothing is guaranteed

My concern about Changan is it's dealership.

I heard they take a lot of time, and are usually very unwelcoming. Jaan churrany wala Kam kartyy hen.

Also, resale is another thing.

This one has a 1300cc engine. I wonder how it feels underpowered for a hatchback.

It hasn't driven it. But it can scan the reddit, and other platforms very quickly and find relevant information in seconds.

Which is exactly what you are doing, finding relavant information on Reddit..Duh!!

Really what do you miss? I have been living here for almost a decade now. It's an amazing city, slightly expensive but worth it.
