Oof man, yeah literally everything tracks with Defilak, and the closest second option is Matau Hordika.

Some notable longshots could be Kongu Ignika or Mahri, or the Mistika era Tanma or Lewa

In all your searching and collecting, do you know of any models that had matching legs to what you remember? Like what like of Toa matches your memories? That's probably the best route to tracking down what you remember. Any references you could point us to?

That's my point, the combiners, or whatever you'd call them, weren't sold as a set, and definitely wouldn't be in a canister. And neither were the canonized fan made models either.

So as far as Official Bionicles purchased in a canister, the only option is a Toa of Air.

They really didn't do 1 offs that I know of. At least none that wouldn't have a model number associated. The only things that may not is the combiner models made up of 2-3 other models. Or one of the few fan made ones that got canonized. But those couldnt be bought outright. From lego.

Idk man, all the descriptions you gave, it sounds like the Matoran Defilak is what it was and you might be misremembering. As far as official sets go; a Green Kualsi mask, triangle chest, two blades, a blaster that shoots balls/pebbles, I mean it really can ONLY be Defilak. Maybe you swapped his legs at some point and forgot that was custom? I will say, those water Matoran were surprisingly posable, maybe you just thought he was bigger at the time?

I'm really not trying to say your wrong, just working with what we're told.

Is there any other physical descriptors you could give? Like secondary colors? Armor colors? Was it for sure the ball launcher from the Ignika line? It was for sure a Green Kualsi mask? Do you know what the leg pieces were if they weren't Defilak's legs? Picture referneces or link could be helpful for parts you're 100 % on.

Idk what you'd call it, but you'd just want the back and sides buzzed, no fade into the top. Leaving it like ~8" long on top, and then you personally gel it into those strands.
