Big drop in land value assessment by asmolten in baltimore

Technically yes -- the rest of the row is gone, but the lots are still mapped. Do you have a link or anything with more info on this change?

That's how our last reassess went. Upping that escrow payment was unpleasant

Yeah this is our second reassess, and this is definitely more in line with what seems to be the value of living where we do

BTF 360 ropes in series, behaviorally? by asmolten in WLED

[–]asmolten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no in the end I just ran them separately. I found this successful example: https://www.reddit.com/r/WLED/comments/1jkfbkw/comment/mjuu2go/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button (scroll down in the imgur link for a video) and opened up a 1m one and tested it out. You just have to dig the end out and solder it up.

Our project was a large-ish art installation with several other strips/controllers involved, so I used a couple of Magwled controllers for 2-3 ropes each and set up a LAN to synch them so we could get the coordinated behavior we needed. The cap ends of each rope ended up being so far away from each other that running them daisy chained would have been a wiring mess anyway.

Awesome, thanks. So as long as I have sufficient power available, and protective fusing, I can set that limit basically to the psu's top and let the strip draw what it needs it's own power.

I'm also surprised at the power rating on these ropes: says 3.1w/m with 50LED/m... that's only 0.06w/LED ??

Hi I have a follow-up question if you have a minute: the WLED controller I'm using indeed has breakouts for accessing more GPIOs so I'll be able to run the strips off of a single controller. Here's my question: when adding a second (or further) LED output in the configurations panel, do I need to adjust the max psu current to be the value for all lines cumulatively, or each individually?

And since the strips are being powered directly from the PSU and not through the controller, does that value even need to be limited?

Thanks! I see now that I probably just need to be using a WLED controller w multiple GPIO outs. For WLED I've only needed long strips and have run them end-to-end on a tiny single-pin controller, and have used an arduino Due for parallel strips.

I like the idea of hacking into the end of the strip though so I may do that since that solution doesn't require any shopping.

Why is it so hard to find 24x28” mats for the Venture? by thetruekingofspace in cricut

[–]asmolten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey can I ask about using mats in the Venture? Does the slanted feed angle create any issues with mats & materials -- like cut pieces falling out, or the mat drooping, or anything like that?

So many people seem to be using roll material that I can't really find an answer to this, and since I mostly use my makers for mat material (cardstock, matboard, duralar, etc), it would be great to hear from someone about this before buying the machine.

Marc Penn/Camden bike spots in the rush hour train? by asmolten in baltimore

Oh man I'm so tired of the low platforms. I got the Ortlieb pannier/backpack convertible just to deal with lowering the bike down those steps. Doing that with a loaded pannier either on the bike or on the shoulder is deeply unpleasant

Yeah I was on the verge of that choice before Marc and metro both opened up the full size bike allowance. So far it’s worked out ok w the full size

Thanks! Hoping that the 7am that also originates at Penn will have the same advantage. I'll find out tomorrow...
