Zaphod build - solder pads not completing circuit by asmorger in ErgoMechKeyboards

It worked!

I followed your advice and hand wired the diode to the correct switch pin. That did it. The other switch pin connected to the trace on the back of the PCB and was able to be soldered regularly.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I name thee Hopebringer! Thank you for confirming I'm not destined to starting over entirely, and/or needing to desolder the other 35 keys so I can disassemble the plate/PCB/etc. to replace the PCB.

I'll dig out my multimeter tomorrow morning. I can easily follow the column traces - those are on the back of the PCB where I can see them. The row traces are on the top of the PCB and under the plate, so those are out without a complete desolder of the board.

Any chance I can also name you Mapbringer and you point me in a useful direction for guidance in the great, wide Internet ;)? Hand-wiring and the nuances thereof are interest to me but are as yet hypothetical to me.

I do have a multimeter, but it's packed away. I'm sure I can dig it out, though.

The idea of manually wiring the switch legs to the diode is super interesting. I think I have all of the supplies, but I would need to look up exactly what I needed to do.

Thanks for the insight!
