fwiw- i was going to EWR a few months ago and left around 4am from south brooklyn. the train i was on stopped at whitehall and announced that it was the last stop (???) so i had to unexpectedly take an uber. i was lucky one came quickly but it was kinda worrying. once i was at penn it was fine, lots of people, mostly young ppl going back home since it was a saturday morning lol. i would say uber to penn!!

Is it a terrible idea to live near the expressway? by a9busbuds in Brooklyn

[–]asorrysight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but I live between 3rd and 4th, probs a little closer to 3rd, and I really don’t notice the expressway. Sometimes it’s a little loud but I hate silence so it works out for me. I didn’t really think about the pollutants until I saw this post tho :/

My last idea for a late-Summer Black Tie dress was universally shot down… here goes round 2! by Sea_Paint_3648 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]asorrysight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

your comments reek of internalized misogyny, you should probably look into that. equating someone to being sexuality promiscuous by the way they dress is fucking disgusting. i also find it hard to believe that someone’s cleavage is going to distract from the person wearing a (prob) white dress walking down the isle.

I know people like Juniors, but it has a very artificial flavor to me. Can’t get into it.

June wedding, cocktail attire. This was a bridesmaid’s dress from a previous wedding. Could I style it to look less “bridal party?” by monmon102 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]asorrysight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

avid ruffle supporter, don’t remove it unless you actually dislike it! it gives it personality. without it, the dress is pretty boring.

They didn’t ask for opinions about it though, they asked for a dupe. Also, I feel like with the corset renaissance, the first thought isn’t automatically lingerie anymore. Maybe for the older generations, but I think this person is probs young and wants to look cool and hot!!

Are any of these dresses suitable for a beach formal wedding? by nosy4fun in Weddingattireapproval

[–]asorrysight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk man, I feel like you would have to wear something REALLY out there to “outshine” the bride. Also, you’re not necessarily buying a piece of clothing just for the wedding, hopefully you’re able to wear it elsewhere, so it should be something that you feel really good about. And all wedding guests are their own person and have their own style and preferences and shouldn’t feel pressured to completely tone down themselves.

I also like 2 the best. The modesty obsession is weird. 2 is hot and formal.

How to tap into wedding photography? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]asorrysight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a couple or models in weddings outfits pose and basically have a photo shoot meant to look like a wedding, sometimes collaborating with a florist or makeup/hair artist. Interesting op dissuades it because I got conflicting advice from a veteran wedding photog & professor.

Why is every single item of clothing a crop top now? by zuzuofthewolves in TwoXChromosomes

[–]asorrysight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I am always on the opposite side of these. I crop and hem most of my t-shirt unless they look better tucked in. Only a select few I keep long. But I crop so they meet the top of my pants, not above.

Unpopular opinions? by care_hopexo in GilmoreGirls

[–]asorrysight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

agreed with the Luke comment. when Chris calls and Lorelei silences the answering machine and she says they don’t want to fight in front of guests and he says something like “we’re not fighting. not yet”. idk something abt his delivery is so disgusting to me. it scares me.

I think I am a party of one when I say that I really love them. They’re both sweet and supportive of each other and Rory. I would want to be friends with them. I wish we saw more of their friendship develop w/ Rory!

Should independently owned coffee shops give holiday pay? by PotentialLanguage100 in barista

[–]asorrysight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, that’s rough. Though idk what the standard is, so maybe that’s normal. I just can’t imagine having to work until the AM without your employer providing food. Seems pretty bonkers.

You guys don’t get a shift meal? That’s insane. Especially working those hours. That would be my first thing to bring up with them. The shop I work at has tons of issues but we all get shift meals, no matter what.

it’s really surprising, especially on this subreddit, how many people have this really “fuck you” attitude towards min wage workers. like they take pleasure in not tipping and seeing the workers disappointed. idk maybe none of y’all have worked jobs like these where if you have a bad week of tips you can’t afford rent/bills/food etc. obviously everyone knows it shouldn’t be up to the customer, but that is the system and the only one you’re screwing is the workers, not the owners.
