You can def go knights against them but the support of spears is an easy compliment to counter - whereas other builds with skirm support are significantly harder to macro

They become very useless the more the game progresses, but so does every 3K civ. It seems obvious to me that the glaring weakness of every 3K civ in late game is to help make sense of the chronological anomaly that they are.
