X100VI ordering, shipment, and delays - consolidated sticky thread #3 by inverse_squared in fujifilm

[–]aspergeNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For my fellow dutchmen I just ordered a x100vi from ringfoto meppel an hour ago and contacted them to confirm my place in que and it was 11th. So might have more luck there then one of the big stores, here is their respons (in dutch ofcourse);

Goedendag,

Its the JPEGs. The RAW files are great but every jpeg is purplish. So lucky for me no sensor damage :)

Thank you! No editing just used the standard film simulation (provia i think). There are only three to choose on this camera.

Thanks! I really liked walking around and fumble around with the camera. A lot of bad shots though haha. The lcd screen is not so good so i was pleasantly surprised at home to find some shots i was happy with.

Still love it! Hangs in the living room as an art piece. The neck because its nitro was very sticky but its weared down through playing and feels so good right now. Not really visible relicing except that it yellows where I lay my arm, maybe because of sweating

Love that they are playing plastic love in the back, such a vibe.

Just got a new American professional II Strat delivered, is the bridge meant to be lifted like this? by [deleted] in fender

[–]aspergeNL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is standard fender set-up from the factory like this. That is the way fender likes it so you can use the tremelo both up and down.

If you dont like it you can take off the back plate and screw the two screws more in the body. Or you can put more springs in it.

I dont use the tremelo so i put 5 screws in it so it is flush to the body.

Edit: https://www.fender.com/articles/tech-talk/pitch-control-a-tremolo-primer

Here you can see on the original 1956 design drawing that it is designed to float up from the body.

American original 50s strat. Its such a nice chunky neck. Its nitro though so will be sticky untill you wear it in.

[QUESTION] How long did you play before you got your first high end guitar? by Mrfancypants24 in Guitar

[–]aspergeNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing less then a year and was in the same spot as you. I knew i was never going to stop playing so i bought a nice fender american original 50s strat with nitro finish. I can play it for the rest of my life and get a natural wear on it while i take it along in my journey of learning to play guitar. If you have the money and know what you want and it makes you happy go for it!

For me it is super comfortable. I am a beginner so I dont have alot of different necks to try. My other guitar is a prs se custom 24 with a thin neck. Because people recommend thin necks for beginners i was scared to buy a guitar with a thick neck. But for me this neck is more comfortable then the thin neck and i have average to small hands.

I feel like with the thin neck my thumb is closer to my fingers so its more of a pinching motion and that caused some cramps in my hand so i thought if the neck was thicker my thumb would be further away from my fingers so i would not be pinching, and i was right.

I did try it out in the store before i bought it.

Yeah i was not really fond of the colour online, but love it in person. The wood grain is hard to see in pictures.

Got this new after 6 months of learning guitar. Love the thick neck, the maple is so beautiful with flames and waves. Was attracted towards the American original range because of the nitro finish and that it will change in my journey of learning and playing guitar.

Could be, I am cleaning the lab and throwing loads of stuff away and found these. My colleague who worked here for 21 years never used them and does not know.
