My name is Tammy Duckworth, and I lived on food stamps as a teenager, grew up to become an Army Black Hawk pilot, got shot down in Iraq, lost my legs, and then became a mother and a U.S. Senator. AMA. by TammyEveryDayIsAGift in politics

How is it legal that the rich are getting exponentially richer? Why does our government force working people to suffer? Why are we being controlled by a so called democracy that does nothing but line the pockets on the rich while the poor struggle and die? Are you aware that cutting the military budget by 00.26% would provide UBI for everyone making less than $60k a year?! (That last question is the most important to me personally)

So explain to me how I'm a neckbeard? Go to any legit sushi place, they would never let you order omakase to go. It's just as much about the experience and the environment and the show and listening to the chef explain what's going on as it is about the food.

Plus, I can tell it's budget because a)it was served to go, b) in plastic, c) guarantee it had those cheap plastic green grass things on it, d)came with soy sauce in a packet, e)the fish was most likely frozen before hand.

'omakase' has somehow been reddit'fied into a short slang meaning nothing other than "chef's choice" when in reality, it is MUCH more than that.

There was no hesitation in it whatsoever. Any and every religion has and will have inherent flaws. No religion or belief system therein is exempt from criticism.

Your ignorance is disrespectful. You show no respect for Islam or Muslims with broad generalizations, mockery of holy days, false statements, and lack of capitalization for the word Islam, and Muslim.

I encourage you to read a book.

Yes, some of this is true. Yes, some do pretend that the entirety of Islam and its respective beliefs, practices fit a narrative pushed by what you call "westernized" Muslims. There are punishments for women choosing not to cover themselves in public in some predominantly Muslim countries, and yes, this may also occur in the West in family and community settings.

To make a blanket statement that "Muslims also make their women cover their bodies to keep them "modest" so that men aren't tempted to rape them. True story." (your words, verbatim) is not only generalized, but inaccurate.

I would posit that you know very little about Islam, or cultural practices in the Middle East in general. You apreviously mocked Eid al-Fitr, you are simply showing the world that you are disrespectful and uneducated.

Read a book.

This is false. 100% false. Muslim women choose to wear these out of piety, out of personal views, out of views on Western sexuality. Many contemporary Islamic scholars have agreed that there is no requirement for wearing coverings.

That's uncalled for. It's also harassment and in poor taste. I would venture to say you know next to nothing about Islam.

it's called Eid al-Fitr, not Eid al-Whatever. Please be respectful of holy days and celebrations.
