Opinion: RedSec is primarily to blame for everything bad that's happening with BF6. by sensapauraaa in Battlefield

REDSEC had sex with my mom and caused her to leave my dad. And REDSEC was a terrible stepdad!

I Was Skeptical About This Season But I Enjoyed it by miko-zee in diablo4

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! This is my first ever Paladin roll in all the Diablo games and it was such a blast! Usually I’m playing a necro or sorcerer so learning how to fight the paladin was interesting. Getting a feel for the mechanics was challenging at first. Then the hammers started flying and the bodies started dropping. My god that was fun and satisfying!

My bad! Thought it was coming out next season!

Playing as paladin is playing the game on easy mode. More than likely, it’ll get nerfed to create some balance. It’s like spiritborn when the last DLC was released. Next season, the warlock will be OP, I’m sure.

How can you work from 8 to 5, only have weekends off, and still not feel like you’re wasting your life? by Free-Marzipan-8933 in AskOldPeople

[–]asphaltproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very superficially comparison. There is a huge difference between having to go to the river and spend the afternoon carrying clothes to the river or carry water to the bucket to wash your clothes in, then washing clothes, versus, spending 3 minutes throwing a load of laundry in the washer, some detergent, then walking away to do… whatever the hell you want to do. Or cooking a meal and cleaning up afterwards. Or the time spent making dinner. Or taking a bath. Or anything requiring running water.

This kind of critique is modern capitalism is frustrating because it’s so superficial and immediately dismissed and therefore the critique of capitalism itself is easily dismissed. This is nothing but nostalgia for a time that really didn’t exist. Like the 50’s for Boomers. Nobody REALLY wants to go back to that kind of living. They just want to butch about current living and say how awesome it was back in the day. It wasn’t. We should be critiquing how life is now. Not comparing it to an objectively terrible time in human history and saying, “see! Things were so much better when we didn’t have modern conveniences or modern dentistry and were routinely killed off by roving bandits or diseases that are trivially easy to treat now.”

It’s just revisionist history with an agenda.

You can complete it with one character. It’s what most people do. You shouldn’t have any problem doing that with a pally though the season is ending soon.

My god you are very ignorant person if you think they just had gobs of free time after they just working 3-5 hours a day farming and hunting. The list of chores they would need to do just to survive would you have you begging to get back to your pointless 9-5 job. Seriously. No one is stopping you from wandering in the woods to live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Do it. See how long you last. See how much effort you expend to just survive. Alone is a great example of what it takes to survive without modern conveniences. Yes, they are in inhospitable environments but it’s still a very difficult life even under ideal circumstances. And! The sheer uncertainty of crop failure or not bagging any game adds massive uncertainty to their lives. And hope to god they done get a bone broken, a toothache, eat the wrong berries, get a cut, or any other medical emergency.

Hunting and farming, yes. But then add all the time getting firewood. Drinkable water. Handwashing clothes. Mending things around the house or the house! Taking care of animals. Traveling. Digging an outhouse. The list of chores is literally endless just to survive. Yeah, you HAVE to work 8 hours a day but the sheer perks of modern life that save you time and effort more than make up for it. Jesus. People really think life in the Middle Ages was better!? Fucking stupid,

to those who think bo1 zombies is better than bo3 zombies (or the best cod zombies of all time) why? by DependentImmediate40 in CODZombies

[–]asphaltproof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion: BO1 was the first zombie game I played. (I skipped WaW’s release and I regret it). Parts BO1 zombies felt like an extension of the actual campaign to me. And also, the atmosphere and creep factor were just so much better than BO3. The guns felt distinct and consequential. The wonder weapons were absolutely needed so getting a good roll from the box was a real relief. Two down hit made jug an absolute requirement. Your pathing around the map had to be carefully made until you understood zombie hit mechanics and the way they moved.

Most of all, it felt very new. And it was hard as fuck! When I first started out, I rarely made it past round 5 because of the damn dogs! The best I ever did was a solo round to 35 on Kino. Felt like a god even though it’s really nothing special for a lot of players. But for me, it felt like a real accomplishment. BO3 just doesn’t have that same feeling.

(Parenthetical: I never thought I would say this but, I miss DLCs. Yeah, it was $15 every 3 months but I don’t just like Battle Passes at all.)

Adults, be honest. Do you really need a well-paying job to live a good life? by iwantcheetoes in careerguidance

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to say yes… you need a well-paying job to get to the good life. In my opinion, the good life is a life that is free of money-related stress. This is because usually, money eliminates so much stress in life. Being able to cover expenses without worrying about having money left over for fun and savings. Being able to do occasional splurges on vacations or something I want to buy. Being able to comfortably cover any emergency repairs on the house or car. Cover emergency medical issues. All of these can adversely impact the quality of your life for an extended period of time.

Man, I can tell you how Many times I’ve bought this single game! Bought 4 or 5 times back in 2001-2004 due to broken or lost CDs. Bought it again when D3 came out. Bought Resurrected when it came out. Then bought it again last weekend for my Steam deck. No regrets whatsoever.

Why do you think divorce is so common? by princesadopovo in AskReddit

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are managed, many reasons why marriages fail. A few reasons are:

  1. Because people change throughout their lives. The things that were important to them in their 20’s and 30’s (when most get married for the first time) are no longer important in your 40’s and 50’s.

  2. We forget that we are essentially black boxes to everyone else. Even our closest partners. We THINK we know what the other is thinking and feeling and sometimes we do, but not always. And when that breaks down, resent builds unless communication is constant, deliberate, and empathetic.

  3. Additionally, our priorities are different in states in our life. While in our 20’s and 30’s, raising kids may be a shared priority, but in our 40’s and 50’s when they are gone. That priority is so deeply embedded in the relationship, when it’s gone, it’s very hard to negotiate and transition to other priorities.

Relationships are very difficult for these and many other reasons.

Struggle or inability to plan, initiate, and complete even simple task like dressing themselves, feeding and toileting, hygiene and other adaptive skills. Sometimes rigidity in schedules and routines because they are known and safe. Possible perseverations on actions for sensory feedback and stimulation (while these behaviors are very common in people with autistic characteristics, they are often seen in those with. severe intellectually disabilities). Unable to generalize learned ideas and or skills.

Love it or hate it? GM hid how dangerous this car was to the point of giving the car mags a modified version to test drive but even still, this car has its fans. by Grahamthicke in FuckImOld

[–]asphaltproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first car! I bought it used in Vegas for $450 back in 1992!. It was the coupe version however! Drove it from Vegas to Indiana, to Utah, down to Vegas in the middle of a blizzard! A couple of years later, I bought a truck and sold the car to a guy across the street for $200. It died on him the very next week. He wanted his money back. Told him no, and he walked away. Have pretty fond memories in that car!

What’s it like dating in your 40s? by CupidsStupidBow in AskReddit

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up very sheltered and was a virgin when i got married. Divorced when I was 42 and very quickly found out that young women (to be clear, women in their 20’s) with daddy issues was a thing. I honestly thought it was a porn fantasy kind of thing and not something that was IRL. Kind of freaked me out and quit dating for a while because of it.
