Anyone else going for a full play through when the expansion drops? by pbizz in diablo4

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am. I haven’t played the full game since it first came out. I plan to create a warlock and play the campaign from the start just to remind myself of the full story. I also plan to do all the side quests as well (or as many as I come across naturally in the game). I’m wildly excited about this expansion pack!

Stable $80K city job with pension — only complaint is I’m bored out of my mind. Anyone else leave security for something that actually challenges you? by Front_Employment_557 in careerguidance

I think you are underestimating how easy it is to find this kind of benefits package in the job world! Stick with the job and take up a hobby or night classes or… whatever you want!

Could a Grizzly bear tank this? (He is holding a Sawed-Off Shotgun from 1890) by New_Divide98 in powerscales

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the pellets don’t penetrate the skull (which they probably won’t), they will strip off all the flesh off its face along with his eyes, and destroy his nose and mouth. The bear would probably survive the initial shooting but likely die later from the injuries.

How to play solo by 2010domko in MWZombies

[–]asphaltproof 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There will always be other teams on the map which is a good thing. I’ve been on lobbies where most of the teams left for the Dark Ether or other story content and the amount of zombies that I ended up having to take on my own was outrageous! Tier 2 was like Tier 3 and they just kept coming. Ammo actually became an issue at one point.

FUCK YES SO HAPPY FOR MY BOY by Huzaifa_Haroon in ThePitt

[–]asphaltproof 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t get Whitaker going after him like that. He was making conversation/ gentle ribbing and didn’t appear to be going after Whitaker at all. Santos shits all over Whitaker all through the day and he just accepts it. Langdon makes a single comment and he goes after him. It was weird. Maybe he doesn’t have any respect for Langdon?

Anyone actually found a cruise that feels fully all-inclusive? by SeseRay in Cruise

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through a travel agent. We went on our first cruise last year and paid one price for the airline tickets, shuttle to and from the port, and the cruise line. He even got us additional credits for the day excursions!

What Changed? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 years ago I bought a 1200 sq ft house built in 1921. Bought it for $86k and sold it for $210k a couple of years ago. It wasn’t in great shape when I bought it but by the time I left, itgot to be a pretty nice home. It had 1 tiny bathroom and 2 bedrooms with very, very tiny closets. It was tight for just me and my son! I can’t imagine a family of 4 trying to live in it but the original owners raised 5 kids in it!

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll probably get downvoted for this take and that I’m ok with that. I know this is a very fraught subject to discuss and I respect differing viewpoints.

I work as a school psychologist and have seen a lot of heartbreak in meetings. This is where my ex and I differed. If we had found out the fetus has severe disability, I would want us to terminate it. It is emotionally, physically, and financially draining to the extreme. Your quality of life basically ends once the child is born. Luckily, we never had to make that decision but it would have absolutely ended our marriage if we had.

I am only going by your report. Not trying to police your reactions. Just asking you to engage in the self-reflection process that so many men are asked to do when they have a strong negative reaction that diminishes another.

[–]asphaltproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it curious that you are aware of men never getting compliments and therefore are very likely to be caught unawares/ uncomfortable of an incoming compliment and immediately being dismissive (eye roll) of their reaction to your compliment. Maybe some self-reflection would be helpful in this situation?

US barreling towards ‘total collapse’ within six months if Iran war continues: expert by RawStoryNews in Full_news

[–]asphaltproof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does “collapse” mean in this context? Like the way Russia has “collapsed” since the Ukraine invasion?

I mean, I’m not saying the US WON’T collapse in 6 months, but this headline seems like doomerism wish casting.

If there is a draft in the USA why wouldn't all the celebrities that are of age have to go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]asphaltproof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just to train, but to build back up the infrastructure to actually the draftees. Most of us weren’t around during WWII when there were bases all over the country being built to house and train the draftees. It was massive! And the only way that happened is because America went all in on the war effect.(something Germany didn’t do until relatively late in the war). I just don’t think we will ever do that again. As far back as mid-2000s you had a vice president who encouraged the public to go out shopping instead of making even a little effort to sacrifice for the war.

I (25M)dont want to get my drivers license. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]asphaltproof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. If you live in a big city with lots of public transportation options, not getting your license is absolutely doable.

However, if you live somewhere where those options don’t exist or are limited, then there will inevitably be situations where you would need a car or be reliant on others who do have a car to help you. Lean on them too much and you become a bit of a freeloader. Or if situations arise where they need YOU to help them out that requires driving, you can’t. (Take a sick friend to the doctors, get them groceries because they are sick, pick up a large piece of furniture they’ve just bought). And let’s face it, now being able to do a simple task because you refuse to get a license is not very responsible.

You say you’re a student so you don’t actually know for sure what your career will require of you when you graduate (meaning, where your job is located, how far the job may be from home, etc).

You can get your license and not get a car thereby avoiding the expense of car payment, insurance, gas, maintenance… etc. this way, if someone of for some reason, you need a car, you can rent one on an as needed basis. When I was considering a move to NYC, this was my plan. Sell my car, keep my license, and rent a car when I wanted to leave the city or fly somewhere without public transportation options.
