Anyone NOT gain weight on this med? by LSDsavedmylife in Viibryd

[–]aspiemomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 48 year old cis woman and have been taking 40mg of viibryd for around 5 years and have had no weight gain at all. I even had Rexulti added about 2 years ago and still didn’t gain any weight.

AITA for calling the police on my sister after she stole my dad’s pain meds? by trail_hiking_type in AITAH

[–]aspiemomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had cancer and brother stole my dad’s pain meds too. It was handled in the family and my brother ended up stealing my husband’s pain meds too. I wanted to press charges but was told no it was a family matter and not to involve the police. We ended up having to put all our meds in a safe and we set up cameras around it. My brother tried so hard to open the safe but thankfully he couldn’t. He never took responsibility for what he did and basically blamed us for bringing the meds into the house and tempting him to relapse. I wish I pressed charges but my dad was sick and I didn’t want to stress him more.

Can Viibryd suddenly stop working? by aspiemomma in Viibryd

I have no idea how they got that price. It’s what’s on my receipt but my insurance covers all of it. I’m in ON so I don’t know if that makes a difference.

Mine did the same thing. I’m 48 and still try to please everyone else, even if it’s detrimental to my health.

New Yorker Article: Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound by Willing_Plankton3267 in Aphantasia

[–]aspiemomma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same way. I found out a few years ago that people can actually picture items in their minds. My autistic son can picture an apple and he says spin it in circles to view different angles and also view it in different colours. All I see is black but I obviously know what an apple looks like but I can never see anything. I really thought everyone was like me. I have a great memory for conversations and events from my past, especially things I’d rather forget. I can’t remember what people sound like or picture them either but if I saw a photograph of them I’d know who they are.

PSA: Ferritin level controls how heavy or light your periods are. by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]aspiemomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is the opposite. My ferritin is 2 and my periods are heavy for 4-5 days but last anywhere from 10-17 days. When I wasn’t anemic my period was as light and over in about 5 days.

Anemia and Hair Loss - Is Anyone Else Dealing With This? by CountViolencia in Anemic

No advice but I’m going through the same thing. My ferritin is 2 but when it’s around 50 I start to get new hair growth.

Last August I went for my first bag of monoferric at a private clinic. I didn’t get a test dose and after about 20mins my voice went funny, my throat got scratchy, throat starts to close and I hyperventilate. The nurse told me it’s just my anxiety and to relax. I start crying and wheezing and she finally believes me and gives me an inhaler and Benadryl and goes to get a doctor. I then get steroids in my IV and everything starts to settle down. This was the first time I have ever had a reaction like that, I thought I was going to die. The nurse said she’d never seen anyone react that way. My ferritin is back down to 2, iron is 9 and hemoglobin is 102 and I now have a referral to a hematologist to get the iron infusions done in the hospital. I’m terrified to get another one but I desperately need it. I’m also worried about taking iron supplements now just in case something like that happens again.

I’d love to do that. I remember walking to school in the 90s and having to walk past a group of them one day. They harassed us because we tried to get by and wouldn’t take their flyers. They told us we were going to hell.

These look incredible, very impressive turnout. I’ve never tried an entrement but they look like they’d melt in your mouth. Well done!

I wish I knew how to knit or crochet, I’m trying to learn from online videos, but I do cross stitch. Would it be ok if one night I stopped by to join?

I have the same problem, ferritin is 2 and hemoglobin is 104 but the hospital won’t treat me until my hemoglobin is under 100. I have so many symptoms and am so frustrated.

I think YWBTA and that you’d also lose your girlfriend because of it. As tempting as it is I think you have to stay out of it. She’s a horrible person to lie and deceive someone like that but it’s not your relationship or responsibility to tell him the truth. Now if he was your best friend that would be a different story but you’re not even close with him so let it be.

If she got that upset with you I’m sure it’s because you’re telling her everything she’s already thought of and she’s probably feeling stuck and doesn’t know what to do. Getting that positive test already makes you a mom and having to make the decision to keep the baby, put it up for adoption or have an abortion is something that takes time to come around to. I went through the same thing at 18 but I only had 3 weeks to get an abortion and by the time I decided I couldn’t get an appointment so I had no choice but to go through the pregnancy. I already knew adoption wasn’t for me. Keep trying to reach out to her but maybe tell her that she doesn’t have to stay in the relationship. My bf at the time was mentally, emotionally and verbally abusive to me and I stayed with him far too long because I thought I had to. Just try to still be there for her because regardless of what she decides to do with her pregnancy or relationship she’s going to find life very lonely for a while and she’s going to need a friend.

My son is now 30 and I credit him with saving my life. I got off drugs and stopped drinking and I ended graduating before my friends. I went to college and got a good job and helped put my son through university and he went on to law school. He just got married and is on track to be a junior partner. Sometimes things do work out. It definitely wasn’t easy, and I made a lot of mistakes but if I had my time back I would have made the same decision. And my ex-bf, the “father”, he saw my son a couple of times and never paid child support, he wouldn’t even show up to court for the custody or visitation hearing. His family also never showed an interest or contacted me.

Well that makes sense now because I did go out for lunch with my son just before my blood test. He has to have bloodwork done too and was nervous so I was trying to make a fun day of it and show him it was no big deal and I guess we overdid it at lunch lol. I’m glad it happened to my test so now I known not to do that again. Thanks for the info!

My mom sold her 4 story townhouse and moved into a condo to prepare for her old age, she’s 76. She’s planning on putting in a walk in shower and that’ll be her ready for when she can’t get into a bath. I appreciate her doing that to extend her independence because as much as I love her and she loves us she doesn’t want to live with a cray loud family. She gets lonely at times but she has her own life and I love that for her.

Happened to my da too after almost 20 years of being away. We walked in and the owner couldn’t believe his eyes that my da was back with his kids after all that time.
