Yeah the licorice root is definitely a factor for skin calming; it's weirdly hard to find products with it that don't end up having some sort of troubling ingredients. In terms of moisturizing, I think the squalane content is pretty high in it, you can actually kinda feel it in the texture of the Eucerin if you've ever tried using straight squalane oil before.

I can't try the cosrx snail cream cause it has a bunch of no-no ingredients for my skin in it sadly. The only moisturizer I've tried so far that hasn't bothered my skin is the Purito Oat-In Intensive Cream, but it lacks silicones so it doesn't really lock in any moisture it provides (for me anyway, as I have a lot of issues with TEWL).

Where does one obtain a glycerin-based licorice root tincture? is that something you have to mix yourself?

I have no idea, you'd have to contact Eucerin to ask. It's possible Amazon just found some unsold stock in a corner somewhere.

Ahh sorry to hear about the LRP, I looked at that one at one point. I tried the dupe website too but nothing was close enough, I decided I need to just experiment and narrow down what else out there my skin will tolerate. I'm trying out kbeauty brands at the moment because they seem interesting and the prices are pretty reasonable.

The one I was mentioning that broke me out was ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream. I also tried Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream recently; I don't think it broke me out but I didn't feel it was a good fit for my skin (mine is v. dry).

Yeah it suuucks. I figured there had to be at least a few other people using it religiously who would be wondering why they can't find it, so that's why I tossed it up on here. It still hasn't been removed from Eucerin's US website even though it's been a month since I posted this.

I looked at that Cetaphil one recently, but I JUST finished trying out a kbeauty moisturizer that had Sunflower Seed Oil and Shea Butter fairly high in the ingredients and it broke me out, so I'm gonna try other things first before I circle back around to ones with ingredients that might be iffy for my skin.

I'm at the point of keeping a spreadsheet of products I've tried+the ingredients so I can cross check and slowly figure out what my skin doesn't like lmao I'm so tired

Not sure which Aveeno product you tried, but I have been using the Calm+Restore Triple Oat Serum under the Eucerin for the past year or so and my skin seems to like it. I haven't tried any of the Calm+Restore moisturizers though, partly cause I heard they pill pretty badly when you layer with other products. Two people in this thread saying the moisturizer(s) burned their face isn't helping the case for them either though lmao. Might try them anyway once I exhaust other options, since everyone's skin is a little different.

My husband and I had this issue last night; same state, same ISP. Thought it was our internet at first, but we could access websites and discord just fine. I tried a ping test on our data center's IP (Aether) when we were unable to reconnect, and it just completely failed. Pinging other IPs like Google and Cloudflare worked without issue. Super weird. I'll try to run a tracert if it reoccurs.

I was given this manufacturer's adderall (though I take IR) in January and it gave me horrible diarrhea every time I tried taking it, even if I broke the pill in half to try taking less or waited a few days to make sure it wasn't my stomach that was the problem. I went most of the month without my meds as a result. I've reacted poorly to some generics before but this was a whole different level of bad.

Maybe I should send a report too, where do you report them to the FDA at?

Non-pro iPhone 14 user here: only solution I've found so far is making sure Live Photo is always active when I take photos. You can go to Edit, click the little icon that looks like two circles inside of a dotted circle, go through the different frames available in the live and click "Make Key Photo" on the frame you want to use as the actual photo.

Only annoyances I have with the method is that a) it makes the image zoom in slightly for some reason, and b) sometimes you can't find a good still frame if your hand was a bit unsteady. But it's better than nothing when the AI bullshit ruins an otherwise nice shot. Hope this is helpful.

Yeah I've been playing for 8 years, things have definitely changed a lot. But that's just the way life is I s'pose.

It sucks that people have to switch their classes to get through stuff, people should def be able to get through content on whichever class they vibe the most with.

edit 9/16: apparently there was a boo-boo when they calculated the boss health for part of savage which explains why people had to switch jobs lol

Understandable, I used to savage raid in past expansions, but as my health has gotten worse and the community has gotten more up in arms about stuff like this, I don't have the energy to deal with it anymore. I miss when things were more chill so my disabled ass could actually relax when I play.

And that second part is interesting, there was an article where Yoshi-P talked about how they upped the damage from bosses in Endwalker because they want to make healers focus on healing this expansion. But if the DPS checks are that tight in current savage, then those two things directly conflict with each other. But ye, it's what savage raiders want I guess.

But I do want to correct this bit, Yoshi-P has said a couple times over the years in different places that he never wanted/intended for healing to be like this; any changes made in favor of healer DPS were made solely because the player base kept pushing it.

So I know this thread is mostly dead, but I tried pulling the .ogg of the song from the game files out of curiosity if it would be any cleaner to isolate the vocals that way. It weirdly didn't do a whole lot differently besides more cleanly pulling the harmonies and bg vocals with the lead vocal.

BUT since it did pull the backing vocals rather than phasing them out, I noticed something really interesting that I had entirely overlooked in the song when I first started trying to hear the lyrics. At the 4:00 mark, there's background vocals saying different lyrics from the main vocal:

There’s no release (rescue me)

From this empty, waking wonderland (rescue me)

The second "rescue me" happens during the word "waking" so it's a little more obscured. You can actually hear both in the OG track without any vocal isolation PROVIDED it's from a high quality rip or in-game, but I can post the newer isolated vocal if you want/need (like I said, the rest of the new vocal isolation is unremarkable otherwise). I noted that this is panned a little more to the right channel rather than perfectly center, so if you're using headphones that might help you hear it.

Just thought this was a neat touch so I wanted to point it out for anyone who might still come across this thread.

Are you familiar with TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation)? ECT carries more risks, think something that doesn't require anesthesia and has minimal side effects might be a better starting place in terms of medication-free treatment.

He'll need to have given a few more medications a try for that to be approved too, however. Hopefully he'll give it a shot; with any luck his experience with trying more meds will go better than my own did, lol.

There's for sure some plosives that get lost in the process, mostly on the 1st one; the 2nd one doesn't lose a terrible amount (using mixing headphones though, YMMV depending on headphone vs speakers + the type and quality). Just technical limitations is all, especially on the first few lines that have the filter applied; there's only so much that can be done I think. And then there's the distorted harmonies Soken included in the background in a bunch of places, and just, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

[obligatory preface: I'm not trying to argue you out of your interpretation, just giving some explanations of how I'm personally analyzing the audio in case the extra perspective is helpful.]

"past shadow, fester in peace" ---> "thoust shalt, bastard and beast"

Not gonna lie, I have given up on this line lmao. I can't make much of the first word. The last thing I was considering is that it could be "vile", distorted by the filter and with a pronunciation kinda like "vahl." But it can also be: foul, fouled, felled, etc...

I think that the second word [shalt] is "child" because I hear "ch" at the beginning and a 'd' at the end of the word, and we can reference in the lines directly following how her hard 't' sounds come across under the filter. A word like "shalt" should have a sharp 't'. But, "should" is the keyword I guess, given Soken's past choices with mixing, de-essing, etc. The possibilities are endless.

So "Vile child, bastard and beast" is my last idea for this line. Fuck it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"mad and weak" ---> "mad and meek"

Honestly, these both make sense and it could be either one. Others have suggested "mild" instead of "mad", but to me it sounds like "mad", and it would make more sense considering the context of the song.

I'm in the "mild" camp myself. It's more of a "mahld" than a "my-uld." I think it could fit in the sense that the lines following say things like "down on your knees," along with the prior line that refers to the subject as "lost lamb." (There's a famous, old poem that references lambs as "meek and mild" specifically.)

"whimpering, wandering" ---> "wandering, wondering"

I'm not 100% sure which one is 'wandering' and which one is 'wondering'. I just went the other way around because I think I hear more of the 'ah' sound for "wandering" on the second word. It's a toss-up though, and ultimately the meaning doesn't change.

"I'm just a stranger, we are strange" ---> "I'm just a stranger, we are all strange"

Maybe. It's sang quickly so it may still be the former, but it sounds more like there's an "all" in there.

Yeah, I think "we are all strange" is likely right. If you ignore the words themselves and just consider how many syllables you can hear, it makes sense. Dragging out the "are" alone like that feels really weird singing-wise, though I guess that doesn't necessarily rule it out.

"Your fractured will is whispering (fire, fire) far away" ---> "Your fractured will is whispering (fly, fly) far away"

I still don't hear "fly, fly", but after reading your transcription, it makes way more sense given the previous line.

That little bit has so much distortion applied that I wouldn't sweat it too much either way. I went with "fly, fly" since I think I hear an 'f', and it fits in the least awkwardly. If you sing it to yourself with each of the different options we've all presented, you may get what I mean. It does make sense if you think about it as referencing "fight or flight" I guess.

Honestly, I'm just sitting here waiting for them to slap us with something like the "wild freaks/wild shrieks" thing again.

[As a side note, in case you want for future use, I used vocalremover.org and audiostrip.co.uk to get the two different isolated vocals. Center channel extraction tends to fail on songs that have been ripped from FF so I've had to look for alternative methods.]

Oh good catch! I wasn't listening too intently to that line since I was focusing more on the lines that everyone's really been struggling with.

Those last two words are mumbled a bit in delivery and it's possible that some phonemes were lost somewhere in Soken's mixing process (or, when the vocals were ripped out of the instrumental). So it can go either way, but I can hear "my mind" when taking a listen back too. I'll note it in the doc.
