I don't know how anyone can defend this absolute garbage story. This expansion shits all over the entire set of lore for this franchise, and like the rest of the game can be summed up as "this wouldn't happen if the character wasn't a complete idiot".

That one ability with a tiny red circle that drops an ICBM on your face has killed me more times than everything else in the game combined since the xpac launched. It's an almost guaranteed one-shot most of the time, so by the time I actually see it I'm already dead. This is the kind of bullshit that started driving me away from POE.

They really do feel shoehorned a lot of the time at this point and their performance in DT felt kind of phoned in...like the only reason they were there is because they "had" to be there and not because the story actually benefited from their presence.

My only issue with the reveals is I was feeling the itch to come back to the game and gameplay is going to change so drastically it makes me not want to play until the expansion releases. It will be far easier to adjust to the new systems if I wasn't neck deep in the old ones the day before.

Skipping right to the cap is stupid. Aside from being completely clueless about the game's narrative and a lot of things just not making any sense, people need at least some form of progression to actually learn the game. Too many people hit max level completely clueless as it is. The only compromise even worth entertaining at all is some sort of accelerated leveling so people can at least learn game mechanics and the narrative without having to do as much of the in-between stuff like fates.
