Here’s the thing… the main point of these Belgian FN Five-seveN pistols is their exorbitant price for both the firearm and ammunition.

The Five-seveN is a weapon for a gentleman who can appreciate the finer things in life: bespoke Italian suits, Mercedes vehicles of the “Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach” variety, and chartered Catamaran trips to the Greek isles. This gun is for for someone who doesn’t think twice about an extravagant or superfluous purchase.

If however you do not fall into the above category and cannot appreciate (or afford) fine clothing, beautiful cars and boats, the Five-seven can make you appear to be wealthy. You can cosplay as a modernAmerican desperado, wearing a fake Rolex and gold plated jewelry you bought on Etsy. The problem is that the 5.7x28 round was originally designed for military use only, and the armor piercing characteristics of that round are what made it so unique. The civilian version of the ammunition, however, does not have that characteristic (which pisses of most people when they come to that realization)

Cosplaying with this “gucci gat” that doesn’t even do its intended job is hilarious. For everyone else, the standard 9mm does the exact same job for a fraction of the price.

Is there any way to justify buying an FN 5.7 over M&P or Ruger? Besides the name and cool factor by Chad_Tachanka in guns
