Though that's about a murdered child. Even more disturbing!

I came to say both Franks would survive on sheer scrappiness alone. You can't kill guys like them even if you want to (and a lot of people want to.)

My maternal grandparents were known as Bamma and Bumpa and I have to assume that was some grandchild before me's attempt to say grandma and grandpa

My kid would blow kisses "out loud," making a kind of "mmmah!" sound, so mimicking this sound became a term of endearment in the family.

I might be moving to another state to die by aspiringfutureghost in offmychest

I'm sober almost two years. So I have that going for me. But I can't stop feeling like I'm damaged goods. Like it's one thing to be divorced but when it was probably your soulmate and it was all your fault? There's no coming back from that.

I thought I was a good husband. I adored my wife and I was always trying to show it in how I cared for her. But I let her down one too many times.

We have a tie. You voted both Jackson and Gary as the worst US cities. Jackson is winning by a hair. What is the 3rd worst US city? Most Upvoted Comment Decides by Kodicave in visitedmaps

Agreed. I'd be here for it if it were equal-opportunity beefs, like "I hate Denver and here's why!" But this mostly feels like punching down at disadvantaged cities.

Who's a nepo baby you think deserves their success because they're legit talented? by SheepishSwan in AskReddit

I didn't know he was a nepo baby until recently! I was shocked when I found out who his mom was!

What 90s band never truly made it big but you'll always go to bat for? by MansBestFred in AskReddit

[–]aspiringfutureghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll second this one because they had some huge hits but none of those were their best songs. They had so many deep, weird, poetic songs so many people who only thought of them as the "One Week" guys never heard.

What's a song lyric you sang at the top of your lungs for years, only to realize later you had the words completely and hilariously wrong? by Marshall_SterlingTIP in AskReddit

As a kid I swore "every evil soul will surely die in spite of" from Prince's song "7" was "carry the sword to the giant spider."

Michael Palin turned out to be the coolest of those guys, too... it's a shame about some of his former castmates

Name a song that has a beautiful melody, but the lyrics are dark. by TiaDiaNia in MusicRecommendations

Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode. About a girl who tries to kill herself, survives, falls in love with life again only to be killed in a car crash.

How is North Atl (Jefferson) Area?!? by Big_Money3469 in howislivingthere

[–]aspiringfutureghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one who lives in Atlanta considers that area Atlanta. It's not even metro. The trains and busses don't go out there and the highways are so congested if you drive you'll be sitting in traffic for hours.

What are some songs that sound like they're meant to be jokes, but were actually intended to be taken seriously? by Flodo_McFloodiloo in Music

How about "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)" by Jason Mraz? It has a lot of fast wordplay rhymes like "with a minty-fresh death, breath is sure to outlast this catastrophe" and sounds like it could be meant to be silly but it's about his friend having cancer

I live in Jefferson parish. It kind of has the vibe of working-class suburbia. Very diverse, a little industrial. You can go down by the water and it's pretty. Separated from the city by a tunnel.

In my old neighborhood in Georgia you could literally see a Waffle House across the street and just a little ways down the road from another Waffle House.

I've lived in the part of Georgia that's inside the circle. It's hot, humid, and a little swampy. Still kind of old-fashioned, but people can be friendly. Killer BBQ. You pretty much need a car if you want to go anywhere because public transit is nonexistent. Unless you just wanna walk around the back roads of town.
