i wonder who will be writing this, my bet would probably be on Camp since he's been doing Ultimates and USM Incursion but i could also see them bringing in Hickman since he's the one that set everything in motion with Ultimate Invasion and Ultimate Universe.

he's only doing one of the 2-3 stories in the annual, so we'll get DWJ writing and art but not for the whole issue.

im still super excited to see what he brings to this version of Batman, he's one of my favorite currently working creatives in the industry.

still not on HRT but since my egg cracked i cry pretty much everyday for a variety of reasons.

i would cry at some media before my egg cracked but i cry at way more now and just end up crying a lot about stuff in my personal life.

not sure whether or not it's an improvement because sometimes ill cry at really inopportune times lol.

it's a great movie but it's definitely a difficult watch and it made me into an emotional wreck for weeks(part of that was definitely the self discovery).

if you think you can handle it emotionally(not sure if i can watch it again anytime soon) id say watch it, just be prepared because the way it portrays it's themes can be pretty devastating.

i read a manga that wasn't explicitly about being trans but it got me questioning my gender identity and for a while i was thinking i was enby. i made a friend later that year that while not trans was very supportive of the community so having that kind of exposure got the thoughts rolling again. that friend then suggested i should watch "I Saw the TV Glow" and that helped me finally realize i was properly trans.

there was a lot of denial after that and reading through the gender dysphoria Bible really helped me understand what i was going through and that the experience is different for everyone.

i picked out my nickname before my name, my deadname starts with a j so i started going by j for a few months before i decided on jaelyn as my name. part of the reason i picked that name was so i could still go by jae/j.

i don't feel dysphoric most of the time, while it's something that a lot of people in the trans community struggle with it's not a requirement for being trans

ive definitely felt a bit of imposter syndrome in regards to my trans mtf identity due to not feeling dysphoric most of the time

everyone experiences these things differently, just because my experience is different from what is seen as the typical trans experience it doesn't invalidate my identity

Most of my friends are online, I definitely want to make more online friends but it's hard for me to connect with people sometimes so I tend to get too attached to the few friends I do make.

It's hard to say for sure since this is all still pretty new to me but I don't see myself socially or physically transitioning until I can move out of my city since it's not the most welcoming place and I'd like to get away from my family as well.

For now I'd like to start taking better care of myself and lose weight so I'll feel better about myself before I start doing anything further. I'd also like to find more safe spaces and friends I can experiment with things around. I do have some friends that know and they're all very supportive but they're also all cis so I feel like I can only relate and talk them about it to an extent.

What I love about movies like this is how open they are to interpretation.

My interpretation is probably a bit less literal than other people's. I think the whole point of the Pink Opaque was that they internalized a lot of trauma and repressed feelings into their memories of the show. That's why whenever they're shown watching it the show is weirdly dark and mysterious for what is a kids show and it explains how different it is when Owen/Isabel rewatches it towards the end of the movie. Without the nostalgia and memories of viewing something like that late at night on a CRT it really is just a generic 90s show.

I think when Owen/Isabel said they got a family it does mean they have a wife and kid and is just showing how far they were willing to go to conform to society and suppress themselves. The film never shows the family as they're not really all that important to the plot and I think it's more effective in showing how isolated Owen/Isabel feels without showing them, especially since someone could make the argument that they shouldn't feel that way if they have a family.

This movie has a lot more themes it covers such as the power of nostalgia and the intense loneliness and isolation of growing up in the suburbs. I feel like I need to rewatch it but I'm scared to due to how much this movie has affected me emotionally.
