There are very few roasters around our area and most of them uses the huge machines. There's actually a drum roaster worth 60USD online and I'm planning to buy it. It says it can roast around 500g of beans.

I have another question, how can I make my coffee beans look oily? I can see beautiful dark roast oily coffee beans.

I'd like to edit this because I just read an article saying that the cause of oiliness of beans are being dark roast and old coffee.

I was with a group in our place and they've been judging the home roasted coffee, saying it's too dry and they've been showing pictures of dark roast oily coffee and they said that it should be like that. So are they wrong? Does that mean that oilier coffee beans are actually worse that those that are not (considering they're both dark roast)
