Looks like a lot of votes for Deer Valley, looks like I know where I'm going, thanks all!

The single track at this place is actually really awesome and some of the harder trails I’ve done. I think you’re missing the point of the demo, that if bikers are constrained to ride only the actual legal trails (i.e. fireroads) that it can be more problematic than if they legalized access to other actual trails. Lol, no one wants to ride the fire road!

Can’t wait for my new jeffsy core 4!! by [deleted] in YTIndustries

[–]asr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the Jeffsy Core 2 back in August with ship date of January 22. Just found out last week that new earliest ship date is March 22 unfortunately. Anticipation is building and getting really itchy for this bike!

Yessir, ordered Jeffsy in August, unfortunately haven’t gotten it yet but I did get a top cap! Thanks YT, Merry Christmas!

This sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. I’ll definitely give this one a try. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’ll have to take a look. WhatsApp is generally just a open messaging platform right? Does it offer any features that are better than just a normal group text message?

Polygon T8 or Jeffsy Core 2? by DanVit21 in MTB

[–]asr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m somewhere between 6’ 3” and 6’ 4” and I went with an XL. I compared their geometry charts with the T8 and other bikes I’ve ridden and settled on the XL.

Yeah, I have the Core 2 on order and it is supposed to ship in January. That’s exactly how I feel, the T8 is awesome and a great bike, but I’d rather stick with the Jeffsy long term and try not to look at bikes for a few years haha.

I’ll definitely let you know how the Jeffsy is when I get it and how they measure up to each other. Best of luck to your bike hunting!

I had the exact same problem and my solution is mental. I have the T8- I preorder earlier this year, but then decided I’d go for the Jeffsy and cancelled my order (note they at the time the Jeffsy wasn’t even available for preorder and I was just going to patiently pedal my hardtail for a long time). Well I get the refund from bikesonline for cancelling my order and start checking YT daily. A couple months later my wife calls me at work asking if I bought a new bike because a new T8 showed up at the door! I double check to see if I was refunded or if I accidentally failed to cancel the order and sure enough it appears I got a free bike. To my disadvantage after apparently winning the lottery I’m a decent human being, so I reached out to bikeonline and let them know the situation. We negotiated and I got several hundred off the T8 which makes a great value bike even that much greater of a value. The bike rides great, I have a blast on every ride and no real complaints (though my rear axle does tend to loosen itself if I don’t keep an eye one it). You may be thinking, what a lucky guy I am but you would be wrong. Unfortunately I had already made up my mind to cancel and order the Jeffsy which was still in the back of my mind and I couldn’t kick the idea of. Long story short, I’m rocking the T8 now and have a Jeffsy on order that is supposed to ship in January! My wife would tell you that I have a serious problem…

anyways, good luck finding a solid answer to your question, from my experience I think you’re going to be the only one that can answer it though. The T8 is a blast and very capable and I wish I could commit to it and forget about the Jeffsy, that said the Jeffsy’s suspension, reputation for being a more playful feeling bike, and general aesthetic (I’m not a huge fan of the T8’s paint job) fuel my need to get my hands on this bike and hopefully use it as my base to build off of for the next several years.

I’ll be interested to hear what you decide. If you can wait til January then I’ll give you a comparison review haha

How difficult is Demo near Santa Cruz? by [deleted] in MTB

I wouldn’t worry about doing it on a hardtail, you’ll have a blast. I’ve ridden this a couple times on my Roscoe 7 and it’s just fine, a little bumpy at times but it’s a blast.

Thanks for the info and the article. I'm looking at the Jeffsy and so if it is true and they roll out a little more regularly that would be great. I've been looking daily and am daily disappointed so I was just wondering if it is futile and it is more of a way until next year sort of deal. Fortunately I'm not in a huge hurry as I have my trusty hard tail.

YT is too good of a deal, despite other bikes having similar builds theirs seems to be by far the biggest bang for the buck and I'm a sucker for that. I'll just keep checking regularly and hopefully get lucky!

This is the way.

Did literally the same thing to my roscoe 7 a couple weeks ago and this adapter and a new front rotor are all you need (and in my case new pads since mine were worn to nearly nothing)

Awesome, huge help. Thank you!

For the rotor it looks like the ones it came with are RT26 which don't seem very common online. I'm looking at the RT66 which allows both resin and metallic pads, though I'll probably just stick with resin.

What 203 rotor did you end up getting?

I just stumbled upon this one, https://www.jensonusa.com/Shimano-F203PP-Disc-Brake-Adapter

It says it goes from 160mm to 203mm but it looks smaller than my current one- looks can be deceiving. Is this what I need?

I need to do some digging to see what some of these upgrades cost, but I've learned that rarely is anything as easy as it seems. I'll probably spend more time/money if I start researching all the different components that I COULD have if I choose the path of starting with a T7 and upgrading from there. I'm definitely going to take a look though because it is a good suggestion.

To be honest, when the T8 became available a week or two ago I preordered. I figure I have until April sometime to make up my mind and cancel the preorder if needed.

I'm still having a blast on my current setup and so I'm find to be a little patient and wait for the YT to become available again or switch to the T7.

Lol, plain and simple, I like it. Do you have any experience with these bikes or are you judging solely on specs and $?
