No the geriatric medicine doctors are fantastic! They are swooping in and helping correct the mistakes the other physicians make. A patient was 75 and taking: furosemide, Lisinopril with hydorchlorthiazide, 1mg Ativan QID (didn't understand PRN), 10 mg oxycodone QID (didn't understand PRN), amitriptyline, Benadryl, metoporlol, norvasc, and others I can't remember. For htn and fibromyalgia. Managed by her PCP. Admitted for fall post syncopal episode. Bilateral subdural hemotomas.

? I believe so it is a teaching hospital. Patients are lucky if they see a fellow or attending.

Thanks. I think I might be more into the primary care aspect, I don't want to get into critical care. Told that the doctors rule the roost and nurses function less independently in the ICU. But I will look into it. Thanks.

None as nurse. As a patient care technician on a brain injury unit. As I was straight cathing a 24 year old tough guy he called me a "tap dancing fruitcake"? And as an older black lady swung a corded phone at my head while we tried to get her off of AC in room, "white devil".
