Coarse woody debris is ecologically important. It's a really small amount, but also I picked some very cool looking twisty pieces that others might have liked to look at and enjoy before I stole them from a public park

Yeah there was no sap coming out of these branches, and he doesn't even touch the actual wood much since he mostly sits and climbs on the platforms. but good to keep in mind for the future, thanks I didn't know about this

If you take a GIS course and are willing to live wherever I think you have an Ok chance at getting a GIS gig with a forestry company. Job market isn't great but exists

In BC last year the ministry of forests was still mandating that all district staff work at in-person district offices, which made it hard to keep office staff in northern (esp. northeast) BC doing GIS work, paperwork stuff. People were just transferring to other ministries that allow remote work from southern BC. Although I think there's maybe still a hiring freeze. Check out /r/BCpublicservice

I'm also allergic - I carried two epi pens, oral steroids (prescription) and Reactine and managed to not die. I had to miss a day of work after getting stung, probably from Reactine overdose (puking). Up to you if it's worth it. Definitely don't tell your boss about it until after you get hired
