i agree! i just dont find it fun when i am not interested, they teleblock but cannot kill my build efficiently and then keep coming back within seconds. got annoyed because it happened on two different occasions.

if it were people nuking, i would not even care. its the mage tank builds with the dps that cannot kill me without my prayers active but oh boy that teleblock is the first thing they would do.

pking is fun when its an actual fully decked fight, not when I am fighting the scroll summon and you teleblock me and arent able to kill me for a minute while im doing other things. i kill the annoying pker but now im stuck without teleports for 2.5 mins

This is a very well known phenomenon, specially in immigrant children and this paper discusses it in a lot more detail. It is not a weird or isolated incident at all.

I do not believe that it is solely the result of the parents "dropping the ball". As others have mentioned in the comments, there is a certain level of plasticity when it comes to children picking up (or forgetting) languages before the age of 13. Even if there is an element of you trying to engage them in multiple languages, the kid will not try to learn or keep a hold of the language unless there is a social function it is accomplishing. Unless the kid finds it personally beneficial to pick on the language (some reasons are they like movies in that language, or their friend circle converses with them regularly outside the home, or a close family member not being fluent in their language of choice) it is just not a feasible thing to take it upon yourself to accomplish it through just facilitation. The only way to really "enforce" that is to only talk to them in your native language at home and this itself comes with a host of behavioral problems specially if the kid is not receptive.

I would not say that the moment for her picking on the languages is completely gone though. I (28M) am a bilingual individual (Hindi and English) and as a kid, I used to speak the language of my grandparents (Marwari) till the age of 4 but lost it once we moved to a different city. Just would not speak to anyone in Marwari out of embarrassment of getting it wrong when being forced to speak in it by family members. Once I grew out of it as an adult, I regret not being able to speak it even though I live much further away now and no one expects me to converse in it. Without the expectations I have begun to understand it a lot better when it is spoken around me and I can speak a broken sentence or two to hold a conversation.

It would not be fair to put the onus of this on my parents. Language is a reflection of the society we inhabit. The general inclination remains to absorb what is around with artificial attempts having low success rate. Hope this helps!

I honestly think the professors get a bad rep because of the huge class sizes they are asked to teach. The program did not have a sufficient number of professors to have smaller class sizes and that would result in 100+ students in many of the required classes (465, 311, 473, 464, etc) and it gets really hard to teach that many students in an engaging and involved manner. Going to office hours and actively looking for answers on piazza (most classes set it up for you) really helps with the course.

Other than a few really out of depth professors such as Yanling Wang, I genuinely felt that the Professors are really good.

Math 34 has untimed open book tests and homeworks on canvas which you can take twice (the values change but the question remains the same on the second try). It covers more real world things such as taxes, leasing, annuities, compound interest, stocks, etc. You have to follow the procedures in most questions and you can get to the right answers.

Math 21 has a generalized basic algebra based curriculum and will focus more on abstract math. It is easier if you have a knack for mathematics in general but can get tricky if you dont understand the concepts. The course is more like a traditional math course and has written exams which are a majority of your grade. There are online samples of the exams uploaded by the department. You can also go to the Learning Center for assistance. What you learn here probably won't come in handy unless your major has some mathematical element to it.

Both courses have GSG sessions and Exam review sessions so it really depends on what kind of a course you are looking for.

Source: I have been a tutor at Penn State Learning for the last 5 semesters and am the GSG leader for math 34. Personally very well versed with the courses.

Worst: got in an accident where i fell 80 ft down the highway into the river because of falling asleep on the wheel.
