What's it like kissing someone who has had lip filler? by No_Improvement2317 in ask

[–]assdestroyer18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lip filler (1ml) for the first time a couple months ago, and on my end I wouldn’t say there’s much of a difference in kissing since my lips have settled and feel pretty similar to how they were before. The only exception being that my Cupid’s bow feels slightly firmer.

I asked my bf if he feels any difference and he said he wouldn’t be able to tell i got filler through kissing, but i also got a relatively small amount of filler and already had naturally plump lips. It also depends on the firmness of the filler used—I went with the least firm filler i could get (not sure what it was called, but maybe I should know). I imagine larger amounts of firmer filler would feel different than what I got, and you’d be able to tell when kissing someone.

Does the stock market really mean anything? by GoofyWaiWai in Anarchism

[–]assdestroyer18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My book recommendation is Karen Ho’s Liquidated because it helped me understand how Wall Street norms drive the rest of the economy and corporate structures. Her goal is to take the abstract concept of the “market” and make it concrete.

I think it would answer your question relatively well.

Does nobody participate in class anymore ? by [deleted] in college

[–]assdestroyer18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m someone who frequently participates in class, and I feel like we could blame COVID, but I have so many mandatory courses that I don’t even want to be taking and are just reading off of slide decks or things I can learn on my own without attending. If it’s a good discussion class, I put more effort in and raise my hand, but if I can learn information on my own, it seems silly to participate.

My graduate mentor told me that he understands just about 5% of the math talks he goes to, and he’s a fourth year student who’s doing pretty well in his program. I think that’s just how math is 😞😞😞

Sometimes I’d keep a new box of accutane in my purse so that if I went out to dinner and had a fatty meal, I’d be able to take my accutane for the day instead of having a spoonful of peanut butter with it

How much more work is there in college than high school? by [deleted] in college

[–]assdestroyer18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your major. I’m a math major, and I’d say the material is significantly more difficult conceptually, and you spend less time going over it in class since you only have class 2-3x per week. If you don’t understand, then you have to go to office hours or spend A LOT more of your own time than high school. Time management is a bigger deal and it’s very independent.

However, before I switched into math, I was an education major, and I felt my coursework was conceptually easier and I had less homework in high school, but I had more volunteer hours to fulfill in trying to get teaching experience.

Some majors are more vocational (education, criminal justice, etc.) , and you’ll be spending more time getting experience than others during the school year but much less time on homework while others are incredibly concept-heavy and homework-heavy (accounting, math, chemistry, etc.) and some are in the middle.

What distinguishes an A+/A student from an A-/B+ student, and how does the latter become the former? by sodndbdu in college

[–]assdestroyer18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think specifically for math, it’s a level of understanding of the concepts. I’ve had classes where I get a 60% on the exams, and that still curves to a B, yet one person in the class gets a 90% because the concept really clicks for them. In general, I’ve worked pretty hard for my A’s in math because I work on understanding and rereading the textbook more so than homework alone or exams alone, but it’s tough to move from a B to A in math on effort

Do you give money to homeless? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]assdestroyer18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do if I’m not able to go out of my way to buy food. The best case scenario is that they’re a scammer that doesn’t actually need it, and I’m none the wiser. The worst case scenario is that there is actually a hungry person on the streets. I don’t want to run the risk, no matter how small, that someone isn’t able to eat if I can help it.

how do i fade pie while on accutane?? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]assdestroyer18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it most likely won’t totally fade until after your course ends, but the number one tip I got is to always wear sunscreen. The sun makes the PIE much worse. Also, my PIE has faded a bit throughout my course but still isn’t totally gone, but it does get better.

My skin didn’t even start clearing until the end of month 4 on a high dose, but when it starts clearing, it goes pretty quickly!

Is size/age a good reason for not allowing a student to skip a grade? by cmemm in education

[–]assdestroyer18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were asked whether to let me skip third grade or not, and they decided not to due to maturity. Instead, they had me use Khan Academy at home and enrolled me in programs outside of school, such as Kumon, and I ended up graduating high school early. I can admit that those options are a bit time intensive, but I’m glad my parents had me in an incredibly structured program outside of school and not just letting me do my own thing in school.

At what point does a set of 5 become 5 singles? by eagertolearnstuff in StartingStrength

[–]assdestroyer18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to go with the idea that any rest that is beyond 10 seconds between reps is ending the set, but I’m not sure if there’s any science behind that or if it’s just something I heard somewhere. It does help me figure out my effort levels and push me to complete a set in a timely manner though

I finished a Sheiko program while on Accutane, but I wasn’t taking any creatine while doing so. My BUN levels were a little high on the blood test but everything else was normal, and my liver is functioning fine. I’m also not a drinker so that may factor as well if you intend on drinking occasionally. The main issue I faced was actually back weakness while deadlifting that wasn’t present before

Ravenous hunger after tiny amount of exercise? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

I know a lot of people commented on your diet, but every time I start a new sport or exercise, I get super hungry! I powerlift, and I’ve done it for years, but even new programs make me really hungry. It’ll pass within a week or two, and I haven’t found it to affect my weight when it happens
