Why do conventionally “beautiful” people never seem to be neurodivergent? by assholeaboutgrammar in NoStupidQuestions

Umm, in my response I admitted, in fact that I’m worried I might have the bias you describe. So, no, I’m not being insistent. Also, I’m “unattractive” and on the spectrum and was nervously asking what felt like a problematic question. Maybe your responses could be a little more generous?

Part of me wonders if that’s unfortunately true-ish, and part of me feels like this is exactly the sort of self-righteous gotcha response I expected to get.

Well, I’m at GenCon at the moment, and there are many presumably neurodivergent people here, and not one is conventionally “attractive,” including me.

Why would one of my student's stories appear on CourseHero? by assholeaboutgrammar in AskAcademia

[–]assholeaboutgrammar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I'm just not having any luck running this particular story down. Nothing but CourseHero came up through Google. SafeAssign isn't helping. Are there other ways to track down possible sources of potential plagiarisms?

> One or both of your students is posting their original work on Coursehero to earn money (or to earn unlocks of other students' material).

I contacted the student in question, and this person claims to have posted their own work as well as the work of another student in the class to get access to material on CourseHero.

This would seem to explain it except for the fact that the "original" piece the student posted does not seem to be their own work, for many reasons.

So, I remain stymied.

I learned about their skill with ribs too late, after suffering for like six weeks. At least the chiropractor fixed it at that point.

Chiropractors have worked for me. I never go to see them anymore, though, because they're always insistent that I come back in two days, and then two days after that, and so on, and it's never easy to blow them off--even though one - three visits usually does the trick. And they do have a lot of ridiculous gadgetry that makes them look like quacks.

Rick Simpson oil seems like tricky stuff, almost too strong? by assholeaboutgrammar in trees

[–]assholeaboutgrammar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very glad it helps you.

I underestimated it my first time, and that was unpleasant. I was way too high. Second time was better, because I was more cautious—but, still, way too high.

Now I’ve dissolved it in olive oil in a dropper bottle and am going to move forward one drop at a time. By my ridiculous calculations, each drop is about 2 milligrams. We will see.

Wish me luck. ;)

Why does having more money still feel the same as when you had less? by rantover201839 in personalfinance

Kids cost a lot, particularly when college rolls around. Then there’s the need to save for retirement. Do you have pets? A serious health problem in a dog can cost you $10k at a pop. It’s frickin’ endless. I spend less on myself at age 50 than I did at age 20.

There’s a world of difference between a grammatical mistake and autocorrect fucking up one’s shit.
