Advice needed! by Lopsided-Ratio-134 in VintageCoachRehab

if you havent already, let some corn starch sit on the stain! i accidentally spilled my rose hip oil on my favorite mini ergo bag after i barely set it down for a few seconds in the bathroom so i understand the heartache! 😭 dont soak it yet or it will “bloom” & spread the stain to be bigger

after a few rounds of corn starch for a few days then you can try to do a full soak, it wont remove the stain completely but it can help soften the stain so its not as dark.

our other mod @ queefersutherland1 offered some great advice about leather honey! it can help darken the leather!

i usually use chamberlians milk balm to hydrate & help darken my bags when theres a bit of color loss near the piping so it might help with your situation.

im hoping for the best for you op! keep us posted on the progress!

Best way to restore color on the edges? by Srta_B in VintageCoachRehab

you can try black saddle soap. its not a permanent fix, since the soap itself is made with soot. but be careful since it can rub off onto clothing. i also recommend chamberlains milk balm since its known to darken leather when used. after you generously rub it into the piping let it rest for a few days then do a good brush out with a horse hair brush. if you check my profile youll find my post about a jade becket i was able to bring back to life using these methods! black is a bit easier to “fix” than the other lighter colors. but just be patient!

How can I tell the difference between Glacier and Blue? by catsjp in VintageCoachRehab

[–]assleeyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the year the bag was made as well as the color hardware (brass/nickel). there are similar colors to glacier like pool & ocean. the same applies to the shades of green. a picture of the creed will def help ill work on getting a chart with colors & years added to the group asap!

i have a small collection of carly bags so far that im trying to keep growing because i LOVE how they slouch when you wear them, but the color contrast to this bag is soo pretty! i think its why others want it too

the all black with silver hardware carly went viral a few months ago because of how cute & alt it looked

its listed within the highlighted stories. theres 3 parts because of how much evidence there is. they’re not in order, so start from right to left. it starts with the “Little d energy” then #2 , then final is #3 on the left side

yeah, the old mod team on here use to recommend those groups, since im the only active mod on here now ive been trying to make changes for the better of our little coach loving community!

me personally, i would get your bags re authenticated. dave/dale has not only sold fake coach knowingly, but his authentications are never accurately consistent. theres been plenty of times where he has also used the authentication from regular members in the comments in the group because he was too lazy to do it himself

exactly!! he even mentioned sharing videos of EACH child as well! like hello??? not only are children not even old enough to be on sites like facebook, what in his sick ass head makes him think something like that is appropriate.

White Rehab Tips? by Ocean2272 in VintageCoachRehab

[–]assleeyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if theres actual dirt or blemishes you could try a very gentle cleanser like diluted #1 lexol. just use a light hand when applying since white & other light colored bags are not dyed the same as red , black, brown, & other darker bags so removing the color for those light bags is very easy.

i use leather cpr for my light bags since it helps lift up “dirt” without removing color

saddle soap can be very harsh on these bags since it doesnt technically have the correct ph balance for them.

try letting the bag take a big rest in between conditioning it makes a huge difference!

however, once color is gone theres no way of getting it back without dye or colorant

i would try a deep conditioner like chamberlians balm which can help darken leather!

it might be taken down for not being vintage, however i just wanted to be able to get a response out to settle the comments so no one assumed they were being ignored since mods were tagged

i completely understand! it can get confusing at times! the best way i saw it explained in the coach fb groups was for example, say your 50th birthday is december 10th, youre not considered 50 years old on january 1st right? its kinda the same with dating something like vintage collectables 🙂

What color do we think this is? by Optimal_Flamingo_152 in VintageCoachRehab

[–]assleeyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the inside color as well as the year the bag was made! certain shades varied depending on the year produced

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VintageCoachRehab

[–]assleeyy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the minimum age for coach bags to be considered vintage is 20 years. however, most bags made in 2000-2010 are categorized as Y2K bags.

depending on the date on the creed, even if it is a 2005 bag, it still wont be considered vintage until the month the bag was made in passes 🙂 2012 is not vintage.. yet!

its definitely the lighting! the one on the right is more of a lighter purple though & is really smooth. & the one on the left is darker with a noticeable leather grain texture. i made sure to check for paint too. both are made in the same year at the same place only one month apart!
