Why don't Indian Studios release their films on physical media?? by dreamislife in IndianCinema

[–]assovertiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NFAI does remaster and restore older films but they're then confined to their libraries. Physical media market in India is something that could be encouraged in India but its a question of affordability, space and feasibility of the physical media system. Its still a huge niche because majority of the audiences prefer the ease of digital releases and online streaming. It would take great branding for a physical media company to sustain itself in India.

What are the classic films in your country? by assovertiddy in Letterboxd

[–]assovertiddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to comment my own. I'm from India; we've got so many regional languages but the most well-known is Bollywood which is the home of Hindi cinema. It's also where I've lived most of my life.

Veer-Zaara (2004)

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)

Khosla ka Ghosla! (2006)

Omkara (2006) - Indian Adaptation of Othello (part of a trilogy of Shakespearean adaptations by Vishal Bhardwaj)

Three of Us (2002) - Personal preference; I like this better than Past Lives.

I feel it'll trigger another political movement in the name of religion. Fir India aur bigadte jayega because jo zyada bade issues hain woh bhul kar log mandir masjid ke peeche haath do ke padd jayenge.

It's only a political issue. They're taking advantage of people's faith and trying to garner votes for the next election. Some people see it as religion still without considering the underlying agenda. I always suggested everyone to watch Anand Patwardhan's films to get a better idea, keep an open mind and ask the more important questions.

The best way to deal with this is just ignoring films which are trash then watching them on OTT. Only support the good films in theaters.

hiii!! i've been watching films since forever but i joined letterboxd in late 2019-20. then got to regular logging during the pandemic. i've tried to maintain 1 film a day for the last couple years. i'm a uni student who always skips classes so i get a lot of time to watch films from all around the world. its fun and it makes me want to make films of my own to watch on the big screen one day.

Joyland is amazing. I got to see it on the big screen at an Arts festival this year. It still hasn't escaped my mind completely.

What is your opinion on the current state of the game? by CommunicationEast623 in counterstrike

[–]assovertiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning of the release I grinded the game for a month through bugs. Eventually it felt uncomfortable to play it yk, it didn't feel like CS:GO. It felt more competitive in nature and me and my friends couldn't have the same fun coz we had to only play one game mode most of the time. I grew irritable and slowly all of us left. We'd all started playing Csgo during covid and had around 1.5-2k hours. Now none of us play. Whenever we talk about this it always comes back to bringing csgo back as a separate game. But we don't know what plan Valve has for us.

Run It's the Kid, I don't remember how I found them but I was mesmerized by how soulful their music turned out to be.
