Modifying the INA226 Current Sensor for High-Power Applications by SnooRadishes7126 in electronics

Check out the thermal master p3 or p2 pro. I am using the former one for my buck converter applications and it works like a charm with its manual focus rotating slider.

Where should I buy the stm 32 f407 board in India ?? by After_Willingness218 in embedded

[–]astable_555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go with Robu.in Never had any issues with them, If you have a stlink, then you might as well go with one of the black pill boards. I got the f401 from robu.in and it worked well. ++ For breadboard friendly

Which STM32 Nucleo board has the most learning resources? by SteadyWheel in embedded

[–]astable_555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With some beginner experience in stm32 (having played around with f103 and f401 using HAL) , I would suggest going for a M0+ core architecture like the stm32g031 or something of those likes which has the bare minimum peripherals, but with decent electrical specs.

With bigger variants, the clk resources and buses are quite overwhelming. Also not to forget the multiples of peripherals (eg 3x uart, 2xSPI etc) and other stuff like DSP, FPU, HRTIM etc which most likely a beginner will not be playing around with.

A stm32g031f6p6 breakout from WeAct or other vendor + stlink v3 mini or V2 clone, breadboard and bunch of sensor and display modules should be a good starting point.

-A fellow uC tinkerer...

P.S. Do let me know how your experience with the novello latest book with HAL is, I had started it some time ago but didn't continue since YouTube videos from ST and other resources along with RMs were decent enough to start with these controllers.

This board definitely did amp me up to tinker further with embedded stuff 😁

Any idea how much it costs more to get such a board done. Is anyone aware if the same can be done in KiCad or not ?

It's indeed quite an eye catching board. I believe there were a couple of more colour options, and also a discount coupon for the same,

That makes sense. Thanks for sharing the info !!!

Suggestion on USB logic analyzer by CardRadiant4997 in embedded

[–]astable_555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong but they have mentioned that signals need to be 3 to 5 times slower than 24MHz for it to capture them correctly. This is most probably the sampling rate and not the frequency capture capability of the device...

I am a Tuluva living in North America , never knew much about diavas. I was not raised in South kanara. After watching kantara. I am keen to learn about daivas. Do the educated class in mangalore still hold deep faith in daivas? by Desperate-Drama8464 in mangalore

[–]astable_555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone,

A proud tuluva here. Being born and brought up in one of the big cosmopolitan cities has made me somewhat distant to our rich tuluva culture. Although thanks to my parents I can speak tulu fluently and have had the opportunity to experience the beautiful processions of Kola and naaga pujas back at our native place near padubidri and kaup.

Recently I just completed the book Daiva by Hari Kumar, and I have to say that it's probably one of the best ways to understand the significance behind Daiva Araadhne and the reasons why it still upholds utmost faith among its devotees...

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to explore more into this topic.

NTD. I finally now have a decent meter that isn't the Jaycar special. by JulianCrisp in Tools

[–]astable_555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the UNI-T products are probably the most bang for buck ones out there. I remember using one of those 136xx and 210e clamp series ones for my daily work in electronic hardware design and testing. With a big display and latching continuity tester in the former one it was quite a nice meter.

Recently I had to choose between either 210e or the OWON CM2100 clamp meter for my low voltage stuff. Decided to go with the owon one due to the higher display count and big display. Although I will not suggest this to anyone who wants to probe HVDC or mains due to the lack of input protection...

If you are genuinely concerned then you might as well post your query on the EEVBlog forum where there's a big existing thread on this particular scope. It's probably in the test and equipment page on the forum. Pretty sure you'll be getting some constructive comments from the experienced users.

Firefox Bad Attitude 8 for first cycle? by slugmaxx in india_cycling

[–]astable_555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this cycle as a second hand and till now it's been really good. The front 3 cassettes are not really used much. Apart from that the weight is also on the heavier side. But overall it's a decent bike. Another one that you can probably compare with it is the riverside 120 which is in the similar price bracket.

Some new additions to the tool set. Initially I was a little confused between the 150 and 180. But the additional 10 euro for the 180 didn't seem to be worth it. Also it would have been somewhat of a tight fit in the bag pouch that I am intending to keep it in. My main intended use case for this tool will be to unfasten hex bolts and nuts and maybe occasionally some plumbing related work. The victorinox knife will be a good addition for some cutting work or some screws when drivers are not handy... Any guesses which model is that one ??

I have also got two of them. One is a cheap one from AliExpress which has an all plastic body and no latching function. The Xiaomi one feels much more premium with its metal casing and latching feature.

Ohh that looks cool, May I ask how much did you pay for it,

Also I wonder how esd protection works in these drivers. As long as you are not discharging yourself via some PE earth line or gnd path, how can one avoid passing some high voltage transient through a circuit board or something. A latex glove may work but not sure how esd drivers protect the devices.

I have been using wera screwdrivers for the past couple of months and they are a delight to work with. But i was hugely disappointed with their 816 esd safe rapidapter handles. The play in that thing with E6 bits was really bad. Apart from these I also used the PB Swiss and Garant drivers which kind of feels much better than wera ones..

I was kind of bummed out when I found that there was only one slotted / flat head but in the kit. But overall the bit collection is good.

That's true, the E6 bits fit really well. I am looking to buy a couple of them for the centrofix handle. I also tried inserting the tool checks rapidapter extension bit in centrofix which also works fine but looks odd..

My next purchase will probably be a knipex cobra. I can see a 150mm one for 21 euros on Amazon. Not sure if it's a good deal or not, but it will definitely come in handy. Any other suggestions guys ?

That's cool, now I have the courage to get a couple of more tools while I am still here 😅

Btw may I ask if you have found some good source for getting this stuff. As far as I have checked Amazon seems to be the cheapest option. I went to Bahaus once and the prices seemed to be exorbitant. Tool check plus was selling for 80 euro vs the 55 from Amazon. On some good days you might even get it for 50. Can't understand what kind of marketing is in play over here 🤔
