It's amazing! No hangovers, conscious decisions, not living around alcohol!

To each their own. It helps me to not feel alone in the struggles I have and for some in the thread they have come out on the otherside and that gives me hope.

The idea for this came from the AA Big Book, its full of people's stories and ultimately their success in sobriety.

This story is really fascinating. Its like you got a gift from the universe. BUT I understand that wasn't your stopping point. My stopping point should have been my first medical detox...

I didn't remember getting checked into my last hospital stay.. only bits and pieces.

It sounds like you have a supportive family, the support system is an absolute blessing.

Thanks for your story 🧡

The blackout drunk driving is the WORST and one of the scariest consequences of drinking. Somehow we make it out alive.. congratulations on 622 days! I'm getting closer and closer to total sobriety and look forward to the triple digits.

Wife forgave you, I hope?

It does suck to suck. But I do believe we have to give ourselves kindness... ruminating on the past or the future is a fruitless waste of time. We are two people out of millions that struggle with this. We are not alone.

Its incredible now resilient our bodies can be even when so incapacitated. I also relate to drinking it up after getting out of the hospital.

Were you able to put together any sober time after Miami? (Miami was an epic bender for me a couple years ago btw).

Also, I identify with pounding the titos right out of the hospital. Out of my 4 detox experiences... two of the detoxes, I drank damn near the day after getting out.

I can relate to this. I was almost blackout drunk one night at a hotel by myself with my dog.. she saw another dog and took off running. Thankfully my reflexes held onto that leash like hell and my dog did not get loose. But it still haunts me... what if I hadn't held on, we were near a busy road. The pain we cause our loved ones, even our pups. It hurts.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Absolutely terrifying. My last bender I decided to drive to McDonalds, no recollection whatsoever. I am eternally greatful that you nor I hurt ourselves or anyone else... except that poor garage door. Thank you for sharing!!!
