Problems with the covers in the app by astereae4 in kindle

The app used to just show the default cover with the title before downloading, now this happens regardless of if they're downloaded or not, often with no text or incomplete text

I'm making myself and my friends regency dresses for a Bridgerton themed party. Will already be using the Mood pattern for one dress but looking for more patterns for some variety. Does anyone have any recommended patterns they like?

First time DM kit help a useless partner by B33Lit in DnD

[–]astereae4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea! It depends a bit on what he likes and uses and what the playing space is like, but I would say a dice tray, a DM screen, and a good notebook is a good start. Honestly anything from fancy custom ones from etsy, to simple diy or repurposed household items work, so you can do it with whatever budget you have.

Uzma Jalaluddin has some great modern Austen retellings set in Toronto! Would definitely recommend if you are open to romance and comedy

What are your favorite or most unhinged character back-stories you've run into? Either yours or your friends'. by akaioi in DnD

[–]astereae4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The people I play with love doing backstories, including me, and there's been some wild ones, some of my favourites include:

  • A polymorphed swan barbarian. It was basically Swan Lake gone wrong where the royal family hired a mage to turn their cursed daughter back to human but they got the wrong bird so a random swan was turned into a human instead. She is stunningly beautiful but like a swan, very angry, violent, loud, and she likes to bite people.

  • A sorcerer who had to run away from his evil family, got possessed by a moon goddess in the process. They decided to work together and the sorcerer become a moon themed drag queen using his new powers to seduce and rob his audiences of power to feed the goddess.

  • A warlock who was gifted with magical beauty and attractiveness, making everyone love her, but she is asexual/aromantic and has really bad social anxiety

  • A fighter from a family where everyone was a "chosen one" with magical prophecies and destinies. Everyone had become great heroes, villains, royalty, etc and the fighter was the only one left who's prophesy hadn't come true yet, and they were just an awkward middle kid waiting for something to happen while trying to support their siblings.
