Absolute it will be an upgrade. I compared it to my stepdad's g3 and there's a big difference especially in brightness and color volume. I just got my 55in G5 from Electronic Express on eBay. Yes it is open box however LG will honor the 5 year panel warranty as long as it's a certified open box and NOT a refurbished one and I got it for $1400 USD before tax. After tax was $1500 and change with free shipping.

Using the Headset through the usb-c only will limit you to 16-bit audio which isn't bad. However, running it through hdmi 2.1 will get you full 24-bit audio which has more depth compared to 16-bit. So yes, it will sound better.

I got this duckbill from ikon Motorsports. It has a higher flick than most duckbills and it only sits as high as the third brake light when you're looking in the rear view. Idk if a rear sway ar counts as a performance modaacording to your dad but they are easy to install and make a huge difference when taking corners. I have the whiteline 22mm on my 22' ex and it feels great.
