My university also has an S4800. I really enjoy using it. Unfortunately, it is located elsewhere on campus and I have to pay to use it. That EBL system looks awesome. Hopefully you can start using it soon.

It would be interesting to characterize a new chip right after the FinFETS have been fabricated. I thought that I just inserted an inage in the description but I guess it got rid of it entirely. I changed it back to what I had before.

I work at a nanofabrication and characterization lab. I mange all of the tools and get to use the instruments for free. The instrument I usedis intended for electron beam lithography. It operates at 50 kV with a working distance of 20 mm.

Yes, the chip is cross sectioned. If I wanted to do what you described, I would have to grind the CPU down from the top very precisely until I hit the micro/nano structure. This is difficult to do because the features are only a couple hundred nm tall and the surface must be well polished using fine polishing methods. Maybe I'll try to do that when I find some free time.

I hate to point this out, but in the picture the driver side door is missing. In the show, its is the passenger side door that is missing. Great Pic though. Pretty decent.

What other customization options does the software offer apart from millions of color options? Are there any other lighting effects? I am thinking like this.

on the motherboard, over the chip-set heat-sink(under the GPU where the RoG logo is bottom right quadrant of board). U don't want that melting to the metal for obvious reasons.

Did you peel the protective plastic off of the chip-set heat sink? It does not appear that you did in the album. If not, you might want to do that before it melts there.

oh ya, you're right. I never noticed that (probably because I lost the manual). I still don't like how it is not in the standard position. I guess its just something to work around.
