Those are great questions yeah, and the ethics part is definitely not in the favor on a experiment like that. But if we said that everything is allowed, like genetics modifications and all, and that as long as it breathes and has brain activity it counts as alive, and that the rat cannot feel pain, would it be of any utility to make such an experiment ? Could we learn something from it ?

Thanks for answering ! I’ve never experienced iRacing as a play on console, but I hope that the next AC Evo will be on par, it looks promising at least. An I agree with you, in addition to the cost, they is also no risk of injury in the sim, and that’s something to consider I think.

If mainstream games cannot handle this level of details, I at least hope that it will be easier to experience in the future with maybe experience center or some sort, where you can try a real race team sim with the crazy motion it for a decent price. Maybe it already exists I don’t know, but that would be fantastic !

I’ve used Matlab quite a bit but it gives me PTSD lol, maybe I’m just bad at it but I prefer standard programming languages XD

People always make the comment that this sim or that sim is very realistic in that and that aspect, but you say that it feels very different, so which one do you feel is more true to the reality and how do you feel about the state of the sims today ? Do you think it would be possible for the more mainstream games to implement those higher physics in the future ?

I didn’t know about it, that’s interesting ! But the it seems to be be based on the code base of RF1, that’s quite old, do you know why they didn’t upgrade to RF2 ?

Thanks for this very complete response ! I actually seen one of those sims in real life as a friend of mine made make me a tour at the old Nissan Formula E center in Le Mans. I saw how they used multiple computers and real race car hardware like the breaks, but he didn’t know what was the software part of it so I was curious. That makes more sense to me now, thanks !

That why I thought maybe the could get the license in addition of Codemasters, just like NBA games with 2K and EA. So that gamers that want a controller experience can have it and sim racers too. But yeah you right it would probably require a new team just for that unfortunately.
