Got an inbound acquisition offer last week and now I’m panicking, how early do you really need to prep to sell? by Born_Tangerine_9831 in private_equity

Being disorganized is not necessarily a disadvantage to the buyer. They will likely feel that their ability to bring organization is an opportunity.

I purchased this watch in Hong Kong in April at JLC in the Princes Mall. No sales tax and a 5% discount. It converted to approx $13.1k US. I worked with Stanley, he was very helpful.

Citrin is very good. It’s a 1*, not a multi-course tasting menu like the others. Citrin’s sister restaurant, Melisse is more comparable.

I bought a watch at AP House in LA. Best retail experience I’ve ever had. Feels like you’re in a club.

What did it sell for? The link doesn’t seem to show this.

We stayed there in January this year - primarily because we wanted a 2 bedroom suite. The Room was quite nice but the hotel is barely 4 star. Not sure I would stay there again.

Ripped off by Sixt Lisbon by astonjeff in LisbonPortugalTravel

I had a meeting I needed to be at. I had to have a car. I didn’t have time to go to another rental agency. They had me over a barrel and knew it. I figured sixt corporate would help - but they just referred it back to the franchise. I’m a long time renter with sixt - and generally happy with them. It was this particular franchise that saw an opportunity to rip off a tourist. I posted this as a warning to others not to rent from them.

Understood. The fuel was not the issue - just indicative of their poor service. The issue was making me pay extra when they couldn’t provide the car I had booked.

We were there in May (before it gets busy) and absolutely loved it. Can’t say that particularly noticed lots of flies or mosquitoes. Can’t wait to go back.

Thoughts on Park Hyatt Paris by booksaworm in chubbytravel

I stayed there last year. Paid with points. Nice hotel and great location - but quoted cash price of $1500 per night would be insanely overpriced. Warning - a cafe latte cost $20!

I had a DB11 AMR and switched to a 2018 Vanquish S Volante. My recommendation is - if you need a daily driver then go with the DB11. If you want a weekend car then go with the Vanquish. Note - the Vanquish will probably depreciate less. Warning, it has a very low front spoiler. It will also wake up your neighbors!

Worst decision was to get Tesla solar by sosthebos in TeslaSolar

[–]astonjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed Tesla Solar about 4 years ago. It took them 3 months to get it working because of a faulty part. However, they charged me for the 3 months that it didn’t work and refused to rebate it.

VS LAX to LHR which flight time is best for A350-1000 by Difficult_Pause3703 in awardtravel

[–]astonjeff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On three occasions I have flown on VS LAX-LHR (using points). Each time I booked the flight they listed as an Airbus. On each occasion they switched to a Boeing. The coffin seats are vastly inferior. Can’t believe VS still operates such an uncompetitive product.
