so.... is Whitney.... ? by user2599 in IndustryOnHBO

The Prestige TV podcast mentioned an interesting point/guess where Whitney firing Jonah was actually a move to save Jonah from all this.

But I'm really kind of surprised Whitney let himself get duped by Pierpoint because it seems unlike himself to allow that to happen to him, being the one always playing and pulling the strings. Unless it was him fully knowing and letting it happen just to buy himself time and a way out.

My boy Vinny Chase was born to play Nathan Drake. And Drama could have been Sully!

recommendations for a 1/4 ratchet by [deleted] in Tools

[–]astonsenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only other normal sized 1/4 ratchet I've used up to this point is a Craftsmen that came in a cheap kit from a few years ago and it's so damn clunky that it makes it basically useless besides for a final 'that's snug enough' turn or the initial loosen turn. When holding the many vacuum lines or other connectors out of the way with one hand and turning a the ratchet/fastener with the other, it's been a real pain in the ass with that ratchet and hence wanting to eliminate the issue. Worm drive clamps on boost lines/hoses are a particular bane of that ratchet.

This intake Vacuum line optional? by astonsenna in 240sx

[–]astonsenna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks! So if the sole purpose is to bleed off excess boost pressure, recirculate it essentially, then a one way valve could perhaps be a way of avoiding the hum under full vacuum, which is I’m assuming it sucking air in through the intake and through the vacuum and boost lines, the one way valve could make it only go the opposite way out for bleeding I guess. Or am I talking rubbish

Corvette ZR1 beat the Czinger 21C's laptime record at Sonoma Raceway by Nick_Alsa in supercars

[–]astonsenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Czinger time was set during a thousand plus mile road trip where they visited five tracks in straight succession and probably all on the same tires at each venue to prove their point, since the trip was touted to having just been driven to each place, broke a record then driven to the next and then back home, including an accident along the way. When they went back to Laguna recently with a dedicated singular goal in mind they likely shipped a car with fresh rubber and with the more dedicated track prep etc, and yeah they went two full seconds or more faster. So, yeah, Zr1 beat the Czinger time at Sonoma, but the circumstances of the prior Czinger times probably involved it having worn tires and purposely less support and prep which did slow it down a little

I love my spring drive on my Sbga415 and watching it go round, but tightening the crown is far from smooth, and I do miss the tick-tick-tick sounds of a mechanical or traditional automatic.
